      Revelation, share your thoughts

I had a LD a while back, where I had a nice amount of dream control. As a DILD, I'd still rate it as 5/10 though. I will tell the dream now.

"I was walking outside, and using my expectation and will to steer the dream to my liking. Some guys were about to gang up on me, but I told them they couldn't as they were part of me. They went quiet and disappeared eventually, after which my dream setting changes to a marketplace at night. I walk around and chat with some random people, they suddenly get hostile again so I try to get away by climbing the scenario which works pretty well. Now I go back down again and everything is right, but suddenly my best friend appears out of nowhere and we chat a bit. I tell him I am lucid dreaming and I try to fly, he is the only person holding me back now. I can't fly, and can't shake myself loose of his grip. The dream ends."

At first, I interpreted this as a sign that he's a good friend and that he is very close to me. Sounds logical right? But recently, I've looked at it in the following ways.
      1. He is actually holding me down on the ground, preventing me to spread my wings so I can be free of my addiction once again (we both are addicted to weed).
      2. I should be the one dragging us out of this hole but I am not strong enough to do so yet.
      3. Perhaps he doesn't want to be free or he doesn't realize the situation yet.

I would like some thoughts on this. Thanks.

Since you in your dream stumble on two hostile situations before you meet your friend who you use to smoke weed with? I just take a guess here that you two do. So, weed is a relaxing drug. And there is nothing wrong with trying to relax. But if one is about to over use something like weed to be able to relax. Then there are a chance that one is trying to flee one's problem. And without the part of dealing with problems in real life, it tends to be reflected into one's dreams. So I see your dreams like this. The two hostile situations could be symbolising your life problems wich you may take care of with the help of weed. And your friend could be a symbol of comfort. So when your friend hold you on the ground, there could be a realization of that you must stop to fleeing your problem. And since this sybol is your friend that you got trust in. He then will be the only one who can keep you from flying away from problem and come near enough to grab you, since he represent comfort.

Hope I dont offend you with all this, but this is just my honest impression of what you described.

Thanks for sharing DreamyBear, I appreciate and no offense was taken. You were partly right, and by that I mean that I was trying to run away from something. That something was my school work. Still, I always end up feeling bad after using weed so I am in the process of quitting it. Nearly at 7 days now.

He told me he would quit and smoked some again yesterday, and now he has changed his mind again. So I can't trust in him on that matter, he's the one with the problem right now. Whereas I am trying to set things right once again.

Yeah, there's all sorts of ways to interpret dreams which makes it an interesting subject. I see them as a scenario your subconscious creates, and you are allowed to interpret it so it can guide your life. Your view on it has helped me see it from different angles as well.

Thanks man, I actually abstained from pot this evening and set a new record of 7 days of abstinence since 8-9 months or so ago!
You good luck in life as well friend.
