Reversing my car over a cliff

I have had dreams in the past reversing my car over a cliff but this one was too real.

I had woke up in the morning and nodded back off for a short while. I was in my car and had to reverse up a lane to get to my house that I was moving into with all my things.

I noticed that I have a sat nav and was looking at it and I could see the road behind me on the sat nav and then all of a sudden I was off the lane and reversing full speed over fields!

Then I could see the sea and cliffs coming up fast on the sat nav. I didn't get a chance to slow down and then I felt the car in the air and dropping fast. The radio came on and a women spoke saying the cliff drop is 60 foot. She went onto say I was going to die and then started telling it as it was the news.

I knew this was my time and said out loud how much I loved my son and closed my eyes and thought what a stupid thing to do and I could of slowed down before it got out of hand. I was going to die in seconds and thought about God and if there was one.
Then I woke up and I still thinking I was dying. It took me about a minute to realise I was OK and awake now and not going to die.


It was so strong and real. It scared the hell out of me. But I wasn't scared of dying and knew I just had to accept my mistake of reversing so fast!

I could smell the air and feel the car and the pressure of the fall and not being able to turn around in the car seat because of the speed the car was falling!

You had other dreams reversing the car.

Its commonly interpreted that driving symbolizes how you lead your life. So, you are driving, you are leading. You are reversing the car, so have you taking a step back in life, work, school?

So, you are moving in real life too? Or what analogy would that mean? Are you risking all your belongings on some decision you are taking or about to take?

You had several inputs, the nav, the radio, so what does that mean, that you have people or facts warning you about a decision you are making in life?

I had dreams with cars, others driving or me, crashing or difficulties, and to me, it reflected clearly about how I was (not) taking control of my life. Of course, views can have bias, paradigmas, because interpretations depend on the dreamers life experience and symbolism. Just like words are mere symbols in a communication that may have different meanings to different persons, dream symbolisms should speak your language. Different persons have different interpretations, so you have to meditate with some perspective.

Thats why I rather make open questions than giving closed answers.

Maybe not so much going backward, as trying to reverse something undesirable.
Maybe before you have wanted to reverse a decision or situation, but this one was too real, of more significance or consequence to you.

You had to reverse to go back to yourself with all that you were.
You had inner navigation, to get your accurate position, but went right off course.
So it sounds like either reality did not allow you to reverse this situation, or you failed to or didn't know how to.

Full speed backward you couldn't slow down, so maybe you initially panicked or were too much in a hurry.
Does 60 mean anything? Are you that age?
You knew the news it was your time, and that you should have slowed down. You thought what was dear to you, and if there was anything after.

Hi there. I have absolutely zero idea if you will even see this response so many years later but I came across your post tonight while Googling this dream and was personally impacted by it. I have been having a recurring dream of reversing over a cliff. It is happened in a couple of different ways but it is so identical to some of the things that you were describing that it made me want to see if I could connect even just over this format. The exact circumstances were different than your field but everything you described psychologically right down to the last minute dialogue with family and God and having a hard time shaking the reality of it once you're awake. It has really gotten under my skin. Don't know even how to end this note but I'll leave it there for now. Blessings to you.
