Lots of Dreams Within Dreams

Lately, I've been having these dreams where, during a dream, I would go into another dream and then wake up to the same dream I was having.
Anyone know why this is happening?
Just this morning I had a dream that my brother and I were going to go wash our cloths.
But I suddenly had a dream where I was being dragged with a super huge sticky hand toy.
And then later I woke up to that dream again where my brother and I were going to wash our cloths.
I asked what happened and he said "You fell asleep".
Not mad at this or anything, just curious.

That sort of thing happens. Dreams shift frequently, and false awakenings are common. That's why one reality check to see whether one is dreaming is to always upon changing locations or situations ask oneself how did I get here and what was I just doing because in dreams these questions will not have clear answers that make sense. Also lucid dreamers should do a reality check always upon waking up because false awakenings are that common.
