Tsunami dream that doesn't actually wash me away

Hello all!
I'm so glad to find this forum. I've been googling what my dream might mean but it's a little different to what I've been reading about other people's experiences. Any ideas would be most welcome and appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

I am in a creative industry but after a few headways over a year ago I feel I've stalled in my career and was laid off for political reasons and have been having a hard time finding my next job. Apart from that, my mom has started becoming unwell and I found out my best friend found a cancerous lump on her neck which she will need surgery for. On top of that, just before I slept, I had been watching a Russell Brand video where he talks about the human existence and spirituality. I myself am a spiritual and religious person who does believe in God and the greater spiritual self.

The dream started at my childhood home where my brother, mom and I (father passed away a few years ago from cancer) were running away from an impending tsunami. When the water started gushing downhill on our street through the storm, we climbed some trees to escape the water. We eventually found refuge in a tall church building where we hid under some tables as there was an earthquake-like shake. I woke up from the nightmare at this point and was trying to figure out what I had just dreamt.

I eventually fell asleep again and this time we were in a tall glass building on the mountains right in front of the sea. I could see the waves rushing towards us through the glass windows. I urged my little brother to hurry but he brushed me off, until the waves smashed through the glass, gushing towards us. My brother ushered to us and led us in a direction which I did not want to follow because I was sure it would lead to certain death. However, I relented as it seemed like I had little choice and followed his direction. There, I saw a wave at least 5 yards high gushing through the halls towards us, and I knew we'd be dead. But almost as I squinted and froze in place, the wave disappeared and we were in a dim candle lit room where some native American Indians were humming and praying. It was surreal, warm, comforting and I felt grateful.

Could anyone help me understand what this dream may possibly mean? What is my subconsciousness telling me?
