Beautiful Urns and the ashes are ok I guess.

So does anyone care to take a stab at this dream.....

I was in a home that had been undergoing a sale of the previous owners estate. I guess someone died and the remaining family had to clear out the house. So I was promised first pickings at everything in the estate that the family didn't already put aside as heirlooms and favorite pieces etc...
This was a once lovely mid century style home but the interior was badly dated, nevertheless there was some awesome antiques and vintage items that i got for a steal. I was very excited (I do buy and sell antiques and collectable items in RL...sometimes) So I was really excited about the deals I was getting from this family and had nearly cleared out the more valuable items. I asked if they would want to hire me to clean out the rest of the house after the sale was finished figuring that I could make a few bucks on thrift items and get paid to clean out the house at the same time. So the son of the late home owner agrees and asked me if I wanted to take the 3 huge URNS at the foyer/entry. Now these things were magnificent! The tallest one was about as tall as my waist and certainly Chinese, very old and looked like cloisonne. Beautiful artwork and detail, gold outlining...the whole shebang. The other two were a bit smaller and descended in size from thigh high to knee high, but still these were very large for urns and each one was exquisite. I jumped on it and said yes, then I realized that they might be burial urns, so I inquired if they were. The man said yes, they were 15th century Chinese burial urns and there were still ashes in them. I thought about it for a second and quickly put the part about the ashes out of mind and was like YES, ILL TAKE THEM! As the dream faded, I was surprised at my hasty decision, I mean ashes from ancient humans! Yuck! Plus I didnt even consider that they might be antiquities laws or some other laws that would prevent me from making a fortune on the resale of the urns.
Anyway, that was the part that I remember. Any ideas?

Hi Kadie. I hope my little interpretation of your dream seems negative or anything, I will just tell what I see. So all respect to you for sharing your dream, so here we go.

I guess someone died and the remaining family had to clear out the house. So I was promised first pickings at everything in the estate that the family didn't already put aside as heirlooms and favorite pieces etc...
Since the overall story is about gaining things for yourself for the price of a "steal" as you mention. I think this expression of steal is representing that you gained someting from others that you know within yourself, that it's basically a steal. But since you know that they want to give you something for a price that they are okay with (since you know that they dont know it's real value).

This dream could show to yourself that you are willing to step on others toes, if the price are right. And that the part of the dream where others actually are willing to sell you things to the price of a "steal" as you know it. Are the legitimate excuse for doing so to your current state of thinking, even if you actually was surprised with yourself, when you decsided to take the big urnes with ashes in them, and at the same time felt disgust with it.

vintage items that i got for a steal. I was very excited (I do buy and sell antiques and collectable items in RL...sometimes) So I was really excited about the deals I was getting from this family and had nearly cleared out the more valuable items.
The dream could be representing antiques in this case, since thats what you seems to be used too. And that you might have a somewhat flexible moral view of life, when you get things for a steal. Or easier said: How to steal candy from a kid. My guess is that you might have some inner confrontation with your moral views, and in this case it could be selfishness at the cost of others.

then I realized that they might be burial urns, so I inquired if they were. Yuck!
As I see it, your dream gave you a option to shoose what to do in a moral example of your inner feelings.

Option 1: Take these burial urns even if you hesitate to do so.
Option 2: Trust gut feeling and leave them.

End result of dream: The urns represented your feeling of excitement. And the ashes represented your morals. And since your morals where hidden in or behind your superficial feelings then your excitement was more appealing to you than the hidden guilt in the back of your mind(wish was the ashes). I also see that the ashes wich represented your moral, could be hidden since thats what your moral becomes when you know that you have the opertunity to get a price that basically are a steal to you. so the excitement shows itself as more appealing in form of a lovely urns. And your moral views the ashes of something dead, wish is less appealing. And you end up feeling disgusted within the choise you made, since you overlooked the ashes(your morals).

So Kadie, all this might sound super negative and all. But to be honest, I thing we all have these kinds of moral questions from time to time. And I really hope you dont feel bad if this interpretation seems right to you. But that you rather see it as a wake up call of your own dreams, since thats what it literally was to you since your dream ended right after your choice. I hope no one that reads this feel any contempt against you, because we all learn new things about ourself all the time. And we all have our sides of yin and yang within. Take care Kadie, and thanks for sharing your dream, it was a very interesting one.

      Thank you DreamyBear.

I had already thought of the greed perspective, however, I think that everyone that goes shopping is thrilled to get a deal. Everyone loves to save or make money right? I was thinking that it was more along the lines of being so excited to make a big score, that I overlooked some faults with the object. I lost my objectivity in the thrill of the moment. I guess many folks that have bought a used car would feel the same at some point.
I think there was a moral question too as you pointed out. It was how to balance making a profit without wearing myself to death or burning my energies up with my hobbies or getting in over my head. That may be a little more abstract than your interpretation, but I feel as if there are some points of merit to your greed line of thinking as well. Thank you for your input. I appreciate you taking the time to give your perspective.
