      The deja vu dream

Well the dream starts like this: Im on the street near my house its late at night and im all alone. No cars or people can be seen anywhere, the street light are on as well. Thats when i start hearing the voices they echo all around me saying: What was lost, can be found! They continue repeating the same thing throughout the whole dream and i cant see the source of the voices. i feel anxious and like im supposed to get out of there as fast as i can, thats when i see a lone very old, black car coming towards me but its driving on reverse and stops right next to me .I hear a honk and when i look inside it i see that its empty. Thats when i start running towards my house the voices still echoing around me, saying the same sentence. I get to the stairs leading to my yard but the lights are off and i try using my phone to light the way but for some reason the it doesnt work. Feeling even more disturbed i start running up the stairs but stop somewhere in the middle and look to my right... a large black animal like shape is jumping at me and i raise my hands to protect myself because i dont have enough time to get away . Nothing happens, and the large animal is now a small one ( a cat or a dog i cant make it out right).thats when i start thinking that im probably hallucinating or that i have gone mad and should find some professional help. xD While im standing there in the dark feeling lost, the voices never stop their song: what was lost can be found! thats when i woke up covered in sweat my heart about to burst out of my chest. The first thought that came to mind is that i have dreamt this before, a lot of times i just couldnt remember it before. For a few seconds i cant even move, from fear or idk why. Honestly this was probably one of the weirdest dreams i have ever had. i can even remember what i was wearing. xD i couldnt calm down or go back to sleep for another 20 min. I would really appreciate some of your opinions on this. Ty all in advance

Deja vu is an error occuring between long term and short memory. That is, the thing you just experinced is being retrived from short term memory, but it seems like it's comming from long term memory, so you get the feeling that it's been there all along.

I don't see any reason for this not happening during dreaming as well.

Is it just me or does this dream appear to be very close to becoming lucid? You even noticed something was off, and assumed you were hallucinating or even going mad. One of my most vivid nightmares also featured my becoming aware of things being not as they should be on real life and then deciding that I was not dreaming but had gone crazy, that was scarry! I wonder though whether your mind was so close to awareness that this is a dream that it was throwing you hints in that direction. Electronic devices are notorious for malfunctioning in dreams. The repetitive voice sounds like a mantra, trying to get your attention. What was it that was lost but can be found? Your memory perhaps? Your awareness? Your mind? (Since you fear you lost it :-)
You may say I'm a dreamer.
