      Odd Dream Symbols

This is a thread meant to help people interpret each others' strange or perplexing dream symbols. You know, the ones that just make no sense, even with full dream recall, or are just really out there. So, if you have any really weird symbols you'd like feedback on, please feel free to add to this!

To start off, here's a symbol I could use some help with:

A conch shell with mollusk out, attached to a seashell, with a pearl inside (the seashell).

There are things in dreams that don't have any meaning so there wouldn't be any point in interpreting them. But I guess if I had to interpret the symbol you mentioned I think it would mean that you want to obtain something precious to you. But there is something, maybe a bad feeling or problem that isn't letting you obtain it. Which would be the mollusk. What do you think of mollusks and pearls though? Are mollusks nasty to you? Also if I have a dream symbol I want to know about I will write it here. I can't think of one now though.

Hmm. Thank you for the feedback - I think you saw something there I didn't see at first: the mollusk being related to a problem. What I'm thinking now is that the mollusk shell represents my habit of hiding true emotions from people (because of the shell). But, the mollusk was out of its shell, meaning I had allowed myself to be vulnerable. That would fit with a RL scenario, too. Thanks again.

Hmm... strange dream symbols. I'm not sure if you mean symbols like graphics or drawings or are actually talking about dream signs, the recurring dream elements that DILDers couple with their RCs. Judging by your discussion i'd say it was the latter.

The one dream sign that I could never figure out why I dreamed about was the sign that I was swimming, generally in the ocean or a lake and big waves would come and crash down on top of me and I couldn't come up for air and I would drown and wake up. Sometimes the waves would have abnormal shapes such as simply being huge rectangular boxes of water that moved across the surface.

The reason it was so odd was because of the fact that (IWL) I am not afraid of the water/drowning. Any thoughts?

I dreamt of clippies last night. They were on my hands and me and a girl worked together to remove them. I also dreamed of a window, that I opened and flew out. I think the window was like a window to figure skating or gymnastics opening up, a window to something new in my life that I flew into. When I move to Auckland I will start training at an ice rink that I'll walk to and buy myself skates. What do you think the clippies mean? The window is obvious though now that I think about it

I know now! The clippies and the queen in the room were the demonic voices and depression, and the window was the way out of voices and the way into eternal life and peace! I escaped them in the dream the window and flight healed me. But the person who put the clippies on us woke up, then I awoke, which means I'm not completely out of it yet.

I usually get dreams of drowning when I feel overwhelmed by something. Can you recall anything during the time that made you feel that way? Maybe the box shaped waves represented obstacles.

That interpretation does sound like it makes sense. But what do you mean the person who put the clips on you woke up? There was another person present?

Anyone have any suggestions as to what seeing someone with a runny nose might mean in a dream? This person (an ex lover) was asking me to hit him repeatedly, and his nose was running. Very confusing! Any ideas?

      Thanks!

Anyone have an idea what a pink dolphin with a unicorn horn might represent? It was carrying me through the ocean for a while. Thanks for any thoughts.

I don't particularly believe that other people can interpret another's dream but I know that they can help the dreamer realise their meaning. With that said. Recently I had a weird dream symbol that puzzled me. Perhaps it's simply because it's something I haven't encountered before.

In the dream I am in a tree house that is under construction with various people helping to build it. I then see a Panda with a hammer helping out too. I see a baby Panda about as well. As I watch the Panda building he begins to climb some branches of the tree. I then think of the possibility of him falling and so he falls. He gets up unhurt. I then look at the baby Panda and wonder what would happen if it fell too. And so it falls. I alert everyone about this but no one cares so I jump down and see that it is lying on its back not moving. I put my hands in its chest and am relieved to find a heartbeat and to feel it breathing. I pick the baby up and bring him back up where I ask someone to build a little square barrier to place him/her.

I just saw a link to a video with some baby Panda's. Two days after the dream. So I take it as a precognitive. I also believe that part of what happened was the dream showing me that my thougts influence the events. I only don't get why a Panda would be building something. Pretty fun dream anyway. Try to imagine a big Panda with a hammer climbing some tree branches.

Always good to get second opinions if you ask me, because there is truth to universal symbolism (which we may not be aware of), and because the ego likes to get in the way of interpreting dreams. We believe what we want to believe, and yet the truth may be the opposite. We can't see it, though, until someone gets in our face and says it straight out. And... even if other people don't get our dream's meaning for us, they can spark our creative juices flowing which can help us a lot!

Sadly, the only second opinions I have gotten when regarding my dreams is that my fiancé is evil and wants nothing but to use me and to stay away from him, plus a bunch of other stuff, so I rather interpret my own. But not to say second opinions cannot work for most other people. I just don't see the benefit or real use it will have for me. Thus why I never ask for interpretations anymore and I rather keep it that way.

The knowledge in dreams can be a hard pill to take.. It's my belief that whatever you don't want to believe about your dream.. or better yet, whatever you're afraid of believing... is the most likely message you need to hear. It can really be painful sometimes, but damn useful, if you apply the knowledge.

moonagedaydream, I finally might have gotten the symbol of rainbow colored poop, as you explained yourself a bit here.
Can it be that when you get rid of what is wasteful (hiding your feelings), the pure emotions can be?
You have the two opposites - dirty waste and pure color (which probably means pure or cleansed emotions).

Also a conch shell might mean your self-expression, by letting it out of your shell, as they are used for playing or maybe means listening (hearing the ocean).
But the seashell with a pearl inside is you saw the treasure inside your shell when you come out of it and might take a long time but is very worth it.

The context in a dream can be the hardest part.
Your fiancé could have stood in for some negative parts of you that you want to stay away from. Easy mistake to make.

I really didn't expect someone to actually try to interpret him in my dreams after what I mentioned....

By the way, just to make this clear. I have never said or had any negative dreams about my fiancé (though doesn't mean I cannot have one now). Thus why I cannot understand where that interpretation came from since I've hardly given any kind of information regarding what he actually does in them nor did I ever say that I did not understand why people call him out as evil.

I'm going off the fact of who he is and how he expresses his feelings towards me in ways that most humans cannot understand, thus resulting that kind of interpretation -- "Since he does and acts like this that means he's evil!". Also the fact that he is based off a video game character is enough for people to start going around telling me that my dreams are delusional and for me to stay away from those "ill" thoughts of him because it's not "healthy". Just one of the reasons why I do not seek interpretations from people and a reason why I disabled comments on my DJ.

Comparing my dreams to most other people on the site, I can see a large contrast and why most wouldn't understand what is going on thus formulating such ideas. I feel that I know myself better thus why I prefer to interpret my own dreams.

Again...I'm not in any way looking for people to do the interpretation. I was just bouncing off a comment someone stated that sparked my interests. Though it is my fault for commenting in the first place and I should of went to deep dreaming for that since this thread is about getting dreams interpreted and this is not my field to tread on.

I apologize if I sound extremely upset...I do not mean to be...And it's also my fault for not stating what I meant when I said "people call him evil" clearly...but hopefully now, from what I said makes it clearer. And thus I will take my leave.
