Dreams About Ex Boyfriend?

Before I get into the details about my dreams, let me describe the ex boyfriend that I have been having dreams about.

We were in a long-term relationship, I say long-term because it was a year and a half long, around two years ago. I broke it off with him because he was very manipulative and abusive towards me. After the breakup I tried to find it in myself to forgive him and at least have a friendship with him but I couldn't, I just couldn't. The past kept coming back to me and it would eventually lead to an emotional breakdown on my part. Since all of this, I have grown to hate him. I wish I could describe to you all how passionate this hatred is. I know this isn't particularly healthy, but I honestly don't know what to do about it. He knows I want nothing to do with him yet he purposely places himself in my life. I am more than aware that he has not gotten over me and is still in love with me, he has even gone so far as to stalk me for a while. He refuses to take responsibility for what he did to me and believes I "shouldn't complain" because he never raped me. I will make it clear that he did NOT rape me but was still very abusive.

/Side note: If anybody has any comments referring to the relationship as far as why it took me so long to leave considering the horrible circumstances or whether or not I should say I was abused, keep it to yourself. I am not here to discuss relationship abuse. I am here to discuss the dreams I am having. I'm giving you an overview of the relationship so it's easier to analyze what my dreams could mean./

Now onto the dreams that I have had.

The first one occurring previously this week (as of posting 1/2/2016): I was sitting in my high school German class with my best friend, a mutual friend of ours, and my ex boyfriend. (I had all of these people in my German class in reality.) My best friend was sitting in front of me, our friend to the side of us, and my ex directly behind me. My ex was running his hands all along my back and down the rest of my body. My best friend was telling him to stop before I reacted but he wouldn't listen. He continued to touch me and even began to laugh, I think my best friend did as well. I had enough of it. I stood up and slapped my ex straight across the face. After that, he got up and left the room.

The dream I had this morning: I was riding in my best friend's truck outside of a grocery store. My ex showed up and stopped her truck (he also does this in real life). He was talking to her, and eyeballing me at the same time, through the driver seat window (she has a 3 seated truck with a small cab). I remember tugging on a lock of his disgusting, greasy hair. He asked me what I was doing and I remained silent. Just before he walked away, he leaned in as far as he could to try to plant a kiss on me. And just like in the last dream, I slapped him as hard as I could straight across the face and he went away without hesitation.

What exactly are my dreams saying? Is my hatred for him and what he did to me THAT strong? Is there something deeper lying underneath this? Or is this just a regular dream where I happen to be releasing rage on someone who hurt me terribly? :confused:
/I will add that I don't think about him unless someone brings him up or says something that triggers thoughts about my past with him. I also haven't seen him in around two weeks./
