Exclamation I dream of dead relatives???????

A little over a year ago my grandpa passed away from lung cancer. After this I had three dreams with him in it. In the first he was happy and healthy but did not speak directly to me. He was sitting with other family members and myself at a picnic table. In the second he was scared and running away from me as I chased him through this dark house. This house had two levels and was very dark and had small hall ways. It also looked as if there were arcade games in the house. He looked as if he wanted to stop and speak with me but he was running from something other than myself. In the third dream he was dying and sitting on the floor in my grandparents house as I comforted him.He couldn't speak and was barely able to move. In each dream he never spoke to me. Just recently I had another dream and again he did not speak to me. In this dream I was at a restaurant with my father and grandma sitting at a table and there was a huge line for the restroom. There was an elderly man in the line and he turned and smirked at me and it was my grandpa. I then alerted my father and grandma and he quickly turned around. After they looked away he faced me and started laughing. This happened repeatedly until I woke up. What does this mean???????????

      Hey Carrie,
were you close to your grandpa? Was it hard for you when he died? Maybe you finally started processing his death. You're kinda reliving the past, seeing happy moments, seeing sad moments. Usually they say that you're the one who can interpret your dream the best. Like this dark house from your dream, maybe it has some personal meaning to you? Or the arcade games, did you play some with your grandpa?
      Kind regards,
      Azucara

these dreams about family members are pretty common. since we are tied by blood and strong family relationships, its natural for them to be apart of our consciousness after they pass away. i really can't say what the dream meant, but be encouraged by the fact that your grandpa is still with you, hes still apart of your heart and soul, you can still see him when youre sleeping.

Dreaming of a dead relative is a good opportunity to become lucid. But only if you recognize them as someone who is dead. One of my dead relatives is very frequent in my dreams. The other night I was fooled into thinking he wasn't really dead. He was going on about how his death had been faked and his business partners and stuff. None of this was possible tho as I was the discoverer of his body, and I don't think he could fake that. Still I was tricked in the dream.

Often I will see him with one of my brothers dead pets and then trigger instantly. Sometimes I try to convince dead people in dreams that they are dead or at least that they are in my dream but it is a waste of time. If you see a dead person become lucid (if you can).

In dreams we can fall for anything. Just last night I was in a dream and supposedly my sister came to make an announcement, but instead it was a male, as soon as he spoke I recognized him as my brother. For the next several minutes in the dream, I kept thinking how could i forget this brother how could I think there were only four of us, of course I remember my brother 'Scott', there were five of us. Problem is there are only 4 of us and I don't have a brother 'Scott'. Dead relatives, imaginary relatives, all opportunities for Lucids, if you can spot the inconsistency. In the dream I was thinking I'd fell like an idiot telling my friends about this forgotten relative, but did I trigger off the absurdity of it no!

All in all I have triggered of dead relatives and pets about 10 times, seen them in dreams over the same period about 100 times
Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

      Hi Carrie,

I've had lots of similar dreams. Usually I also experience my dead relatives as running away from me, or saying nothing. After some reading on the subject in dream dictionaries, and carefully considering the corresponding real life conditions, my conclusion on these dreams is that they indicate that in real life we are spending time with people that are too negative for us. Think about your associations in real life with perhaps someone or a group that's just a bit too edgy/negative/harsh/pessimistic/melancholy. The dead relatives are symbols of "dead" parts of yourself that you've outgrown, but you are still hanging around people with similar characteristics that have yet to outgrow them like you have. It's weighing you down, though because of friendships and such, you may not be aware. Time to let go of those friendships and find new ones with people at your new level. Letting go of the "dead" past aspects of yourself is the key, both within yourself and with the others in your life. This has been the case every time for me with these dreams. Maybe it gives you a new point of view. Hope this helps - Dream
