Still feeling feelings of fear after a nightmare about hiding from a killer.

Hi :) I am 23, I live with my bf, I don't have many friends, I work from home. I have anxiety that I take meds for.

Last night I dreamt that I was on the run from someone who was trying to murder me. The first half of the dream there were several people who had kidnapped me ane were, to my understanding, talking me to the killer. We were on a long road trip of sorts. Changing cars, going onto public busses, stoping at gas stations. The dream took place at night.

The next scene that I can recall is being in a pitch black house running from my killer. I managed to flee from the house and run to a deserted looking road but the killer would catch up to me, take me back to the black house and lock me in a room. I would then escape and run back to the deserted road. This happened over and over again.

At some point in the dream someone else joined me. A girl. For whatever reason the girl was very very overweight and funny shaped. To my knowledge during the dream she was someone that I needed to help, protect and take care of. I ended up running to the deserted road with her several times. She would run in the wrong direction at times making us visible to the killer. I would have to pull her to keep her in hidden areas.

Along side of the deserted road was some very tall grass that eventually me and the heavy girl hid in. We crawled on our bellys in the grass at a very slow pass. Years were passing by as we crawled along the ground in the grass. We eventually lived there fearing that if we ever emerged from the grass the killer would find us. The girl that was with me was weaker than me and I had to care for her like a child. Her body started to become more and more disformed due to the fact that we were laying down for yeas in the grass.

A reporter came to do a story on us and how we lived in the grass in hiding for years. The reporters visit made me brave enough to leave the grass. I would leave the grass and enter a house. I decided I was brave enough to live in that house but the girl that was with me was to frighten to leave the grass. She stayed there and I would bring things to her to comfort her. I was happy in this new house. I felt as though I had a new lease on life and could brave the world. I was walking around my house smiling and dancing.

It should be noted that the girl I am refer to as me, would sometimes be me.. and other time be a girl I was just watching.

While enjoying my new home I had a knock on the door, It was the killer. He killed me. I can't recall how.

The girl in the grass new I was killed. She saw the black figure, who was the killer, flying to the house over the grass.

Even though I was dead I was still having thoughts about how I should have never left the grass. How the other girl was right to be afraid and stay in hiding. I wished that the reporter never visited us. My dream left off with the other girl still hiding in the grass and the fear of the killer very present.

This dream has left me very shaken up. I am almost fearful to go back to sleep tonight. I am afraid of the killer.

I know that you need as much info as possibly to better interpret but I gave you all the info I could remember.

I am not that good at interpreting dreams but as you said you have anxiety that you take meds for...the killer in your dream as I see it represents your anxiety. You said that every time you got away from the killer he would find you again. That sounds like every time you make progress to not have anxiety the anxiety finds you and makes you anxious again. I wouldn't be afraid to go asleep again just remember that it is just a dream and that the killer represents the anxiety that you have and need to overcome. Hope this helps and if you practice lucid dreaming and reality checks nightmares are always the easiest dreams to become lucid in in my opinion.
