      The 3 legged dog.

I'm 23 years old. Male. Married. Currently a member of the armed services. I say that because I feel like it implies the high amount of stress that I'm under. I had a dream last night. It started out really fun. I was in a run down futuristic city, rusty cars that look far more advanced than what we have today. And if any of you are familiar with Titan fall, I was a pilot of one of these titans. They're giant mechanical robots designed for war. Literal war machines. I don't remember much of that part of the dream just how the landscape looked and the Titans. I wasn't feeling anything too particular towards this part of the dream. It was just really cool hahah. But suddenly I was on the ground in an ally of the same landscape. But there was this very sad dog. The poor thing was skinny, and was missing his/her back right leg. I assume the dog is a he because in my dream I remember saying I love him. Anyways, this dog come out to me and I feel so overwhelmed with pity and sadness for this dog that was Clearly abandoned. I start to show him a little compassion and his entire demeanor changed from this sad lonely dog to this abundantly joyous animal! I felt such a strong love to him it's unreal. I held him started to cry and just starting babbling "I love him, I love him so much" I believe I was telling my wife this. I don't remember seeing her but her presence was felt. And that's all I remember. I don't normally have very emotional dreams like this so I was really interested in if anyone could help interpret this. Thank you in advance!

Although in order to provide a more accurate interpretation it would usually be best to have some additional general background information about you (and a description of events just before the dream), it’s probably safe to say that the dream has appeared in response to the high amount of stress you’re under, and it’s likely trying to provide some advice on how to cope with it.

It’s also safe to say that the presence of animals in dreams usually points to the issue of the dreamer’s overall attitude toward natural instinctive reactions, strong emotions, values, vague feelings, intuitions and similar inborn earthy traits.

So in contrast to the first part of the dream which is dark, “mechanical” and war-like, the second part where you meet the abandoned dog is filled with emotion and caring.

This probably points out the ever-present reality that your job in the military by its very nature can tend to lure you and everyone else away from feeling very much at all.

Allowing this to happen seems somehow natural. In fact, it’s probably very necessary at times, but maybe the dream is cautioning you to keep more in touch with your instinctive feeling side as symbolized by your compassionate attachment to the dog.

You also feel your wife’s presence and this probably also represents a connection with emotions, values and everyday life itself in contrast to the first part of the dream where you weren’t shown as being “in the present moment” of actually lived feelings, but instead you were in a futuristic city.

The latter is run-down and full of rusted-out cars, showing that from the dream's point of view it isn't a good psychological place to be.

There, you’re flying a Titan and enjoying it, hinting that maybe you’re in danger of getting too attached and enamoured with only thinking about your day-to-day work as a military man (as symbolized by flying in the air in a war machine) instead of including often enough other parts of your personality as well.

So overall, the dream appears to be urging you to somehow make a habit of regularly getting back in touch with your instinctive and emotional side even though this can be very hard to do in your current situation.

Anyway as mentioned, without knowing much about you, this way of looking at your dream might not fit your personal circumstances very well, but I hope that these ideas can be helpful in some way.

Please make any comments or ask any questions about this interpretation that you’d like to.
