Need help with my dream about my mother

Hello. I've been a fan from afar of this message board and I finally decided to join. Some background about me: I'm a stay at home mom to five kids. I'm also an Army wife. I lost my mother about a year and a half ago to a heart attack. She had been sick prior to this but doctors were very optimistic she would get better. Her heart attack was very sudden. I'm still trying to come to grips with her death.

And this leads me into my dream last night. In my dream, I am back in my childhood home. My mother is there in the kitchen, putting up groceries. I'm so happy to see her. I tell her that I've missed her so much. She smiles at me. I help her put up groceries, just as I use to when I was younger. Then, she begins to make cookies, something I loved to do with her when I was a little girl. Oddly enough, she never talks in my dream but her presence is so pleasant that it doesn't bother me. I'm doing all the talking. Apparently, I seem to believe that she's been alive for a while and I even say that I can't believe we buried her by mistake. As I begin to think about the circumstances of her death, I change the subject, once again saying how much I've missed her and how I'm never leaving her again. She's still smiling at me and mixing cookie dough! I then notice that it's getting late and I tell her that I have to get home to the kids and my husband. I tell her that I don't want to go but it's at this moment, she tells me that I need to go and she'll be here when I come back. I still don't want to leave but the next thing I know, I'm back in my current home with my kids, wondering how I got there so quickly. This is when I wake up.

3As for my childhood home, I lived in that particular home from age 2-3 until my parents divorced when I was about 14. My mom and I moved out of that home then. And no, my father was never in the dream or if he was, I never saw him or felt his presence. I hope I've given enough background and I hope I did this right within the rules and all. Again, I'm very happy I joined this board!!

Your mother will always be there for you as a part of you. The reason why for most of the dream she does not say anything is because it is your turn to do the talking and to act. The making of cookies is such an essential childhood ritual, where love and memories are mixed in with the dough to result in something sweet that one consumes that becomes a part of who one is, just as your mother is a part of who you are. And now it is time for you to return to your family in the present, to be the mother in this family, to bake cookies with them, and to bake memories that they will never wish to bury by mistake.

I do not know whether this will be meaningful to you, if you are not a Christian, but as a Christian myself, the baking of cookies made me think of a communion of sort. Take this, and remember me. This is my body. Now that you are part of the body of Christ (of mother), go forth, and remember, and let this light shine and do good in her name/memory.

You may say I'm a dreamer.

Sleep on your right side or on your Back and Make nightmares a thing of the Past.
On your side. Sleeping laterally is the most common sleep position. Studies have found that right-side sleepers experienced more positive dreams and fewer nightmares than left-side sleepers

      Ok.That was for another thread.

Seeing your dead mother in a dream like you described is a positive thing,it just means you miss her and she is safe.
