Reoccurring Person

Most of my dreams are nonsensical and whimsical. They're also fun and crazy and a blast to be apart of. But this dream was different. It was still loads of fun with whimsical and nonsensical elements, but it had more of a meaning. This dream occurred when I was 15. I'll recall everything that has happened in it. But this isn't about the dream itself, but rather a person in the dream that keeps cropping up. It's been 4 years since this first dream She's appeared, but her appearance, personality, even role in the dream remain the same even if the dream itself changes. And a few things from the original dream came true, from how I broke up with my ex to more obscure things like getting accepting into a San Francisco college (which I couldn't go to because of money) and going to Disney Land, which I did to see my cousin preform in a parade.

So the dream starts with my mom and I walking around a mall looking for the movies. I had never been to this mall before nor knew of its existence. It was just a random mall. We find the theater and some girl comes running at me, she hugs me tight and said she had been waiting for me and I needed to go with her. The world froze around us, my mom getting tickets and popcorn frozen at the counter. And she grabbed my hand and took off this long hallway. Soon we were rollerblading and the floor turned into hills as the walls vanished. We rose up towards the sky and over the parking lot. "Lizzy, slow down!" I shouted at the girl, her red hair streMing in the wind. I'm not sure how I knew her name, to this day she remains a complete stranger to me. But in this dream I knew her, and felt comfortable around her. We were extremely close, and I felt happy being with her. Later on in the dream I learned how close, so I'll keep going.

The end of the pathway was a waterpark slide, I was afraid to go down it was almost a straight plummet. But Lizzy encouraged me to try and so I did. Halfway down the slide, we were sitting in the lazy river rafts from wet n wild. Those soon vanished and the water got muddy. We were coming up to the pool, which shrank to the size of a kiddy pool. We crash down with a splash, laughing as we climbed out. At the edge of the pool playing with Lego figures, was a boy I wasn't exactly close with. We fought constantly and he always got on my nerves with jokes he thought was funny. Sure enough we got into a fight, then Lizzy broke it up and asked for keys to his motorized scooter. He said "only for you Lizzy!" I asked how he knew her and he said "she's my lesbian best friend!" To which I spat back "she's bi, not gay." I felt so angry, this guy always made me feel that way though he didn't deserve the spat, it didn't really matter what I said anyway.

We took his scooter and rode though a very toony style San Fransisco to a friend I haven't spoken to in a while due to her being busy. We get to her house, I asked when she moved, and she said she came out for college. Then she told us to get moving or we'll miss the plane. I asked where we were going and they said "Disney Land!" To which I responded "I thought we were going to Wet n Wild?" And they laughed saying I thought wrong. The new it cuts to us in a car, Lizzy sleeping on my lap and I'm talking with my friend. I mention Lizzy and I were dating and when asked about my ex (of whom I was dating at the time of the dream), I felt uncomfortable and said "it was mutual. The spark wasn't there anymore." My friend comments saying she didn't like him anyway.

Another jump cut and were on the plane, this time I'm sleeping on Lizzy. Lizzy told my friend she was awake during the car ride and said I had lied. She said my ex broke up with me over skype for another girl and I agreed to it but was pretty crushed. She also said that she thought I was over him and wondered why I lied in the first place. At this point, I woke up, having heard the tail end of the conversation. I apologized for lying and explained my insecurities and how I was still hurt over the break up. We kiss as she forgives me and some dude starts trouble, yelling at us to stay away from his child and that gays think they can do whatever they want and that he was trying to give his child a good birthday at Disney Land just for us to ruin it. I got angry. But Lizzy calmed me down and I woke up.

Since then, Lizzy has appeared in a number of my dreams. Making an appearance or playing an important role, she's always there. And when I catch her, she remains on my mind for a long time, days, weeks, even months. I thought she was there to help me discover my sexuality, but I have and I'm okay with it. Then I thought she was there as a representation of qualities I want myself to have. But I've been embracing these quailities. She still shows up, always as a crush, wife, girlfriend, etc. And she never changes. She still has tanned skin with faded freckles. She still has red long straight hair and brown eyes and a rounded face. She still has an athletic build and a small chest but curvy body. Her skin is still soft to the touch and her personality is the same too. I'm no type sure what she means... Do any of you?

This sounds like a classic example of an anima figure. What especially cements that idea for me is that you met her in a theater - a place where projection takes place (a person's anima is something they project onto females they're interested in) and that when you met it was as if you had always known each other and already had a deep abiding love. Not only that, but when you met her you were with your mother (the original anima figure for everyone) and at that point Lizzy took over and your mother apparently faded from the dream. This would represent your newly mature anima figure replacing the immature anima figure represented by the mother. As if your mother handed you over to Lizzy for safekeeping now as you grew into a young adult.

So if she is your anima figure she'll keep appearing in dreams as a helpful guide. Though be aware as you grow older she might either be replaced, as she replaced your original mother anima figure, or she might grow or evolve into a different anima figure gradually to represent your own continuing maturing process. I don't know how that would happen or even if if will. But just keep in mind that it very well might happen and that if it does, it isn't her abandoning you or anything - it's her changing into what she needs to be in order to continue helping you.

I'm not sure if you're a male or female, and I'm also not entirely sure how that would affect the anima figure. I'm thinking from a few things you said you're a female, but as the article mentions, males and females both have an anima and an animus. I also don't know how being gay would affect it. I don't claim to be an expert on this Jungian stuff. So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

Darkmatters do you think an Anima is the same as a Dreamguide, and is it possible to change this 'DC' face or shape conciously, i'm getting really annoyed about dreaming about same person for years...

Yeah that's actually something I've considered, and I do think it's likely that dream guides are anima or animus figures. I have no idea about being able to consciously change their appearance though. From what I understand your anima can look different, or be represented by different people in different dreams, so it seems like a good possibility. Maybe some people just expect to keep seeing the same person?

aha your right i need to find new strong male character to get rid of other one thanks that helped :-)
