Hi, I don't really know much about visions, but I love Darkmatters reply. One thing about the Eagle is that it represents omniscience - it can fly high enough to see the past, present and future. The Eagle is also one of the kerubic creatures in Christianity and associated with the Archangel Gabriel, the communicator - this association between communication and great distances is one story about why you see the Eagle on Christian church lecterns. The Eagle is also associated with the gift of prophecy (because it is all-seeing), and in dreams can be a message that the dreamer has that gift. In alchemy, the Eagle represents renewal and rebirth. On the opposite side, the Eagle, which flies high and thus closest to God or the Divine and also represents the highest pursuits of the spirit and the intellect in man, also carries the warning of suddenly being diverted from lofty pursuits to fall into carnality (represented by the Eagle diving to the earth for prey). Darkmatters succinct interpretation seems to pretty much have said it all It sounds like an amazing experience and wonderful, transformative vision.
