What does this dream?
Hi
I just woke up to a dream about my Mum yet again! I was at my childhood's house where I grew up with my siblings, then all of a sudden out of nowhere, my mum walks in the door, we were all in shock! We thought she was dead! she said she had to fake her death and went somewhere for a while. She kept explaining but we were all pissed off and angry, nobody wanted to speak to her and I was the only one, next moment, she was facing towards me in my bedroom, but I was just observing and also felt cheated because we had the funeral and everything organised.
I've been keeping a dream journal and making entries over a month and I've noticed my deceased Mum appears frequently.
What do you think this means?
Thanks

It would suggest your Mum is one of your recurring dream characters and probably because she was an important figure in your life and still is. You were discussing her as a dream sign in another thread recently so you’ve strengthened that connection between “Mum” and “dreams” meaning she will likely appear more frequently in them now. It’s a good opportunity to do an RC as discussed before.
I can’t really say what it means, that depends on your own personal beliefs and interpretations. Dreams like to play out fictional scenarios and play around with ideas regardless of how ridiculous they may be. So this was one in which you found out your Mum was actually alive. It could be simply that your Mum appeared in the dream and your mind had to find a way to make that make sense to you. Or It could be that you long to see her again and have something you wish to discuss with her in which case a lucid dream may be a great place to do so.

The part of you that you are getting mad at her or even that confusion that you thought she was died: Use that emotion to help you to prompt a Reality Check. Don't let the Dream Logic control you. Question what is really going on. Question how you got there.
I would suggest, becoming a detective in your dream and your waking life. (IMO)
Hope that helps.

This is kind of what the dream interpretation sub-forum is for? :cheeky:
Like Tiktaalik said, any specific meanings will depend a lot on your life and everything you've lived through and the rest seems pretty valid too. In any case, dream interpretation is ultimately up to the dreamers themselves, since only they can know all the "baggage" and how contexts might be relevant.
However, I'd still like to share a thought or two here.
About the anger and feeling cheated; for one thing these are common emotional reactions that can come up when dealing with a death. Even if you didn't live through these specific emotional reactions, on some level what happened in the dream is an accurate reaction to how it could feel to actually live through the dream events, and that's kind of something useful to remember about dreaming.
In general, and giving wonky dream logic a bit of leeway here, our reactions in dreams often seem to correspond to what they would actually be in an equivalent waking-world situation.
This on its own may not seem very useful to know I suppose. I personally think that the use of thinking about this is that it lets you assess your own behaviours and reactions. Even if this might not lead to lucidity in itself, it may lead you to not automatically react in certain ways to certain events.
