I had this nightmare...probably a week and a half ago. It really bothered me at the time, and it's sort of faded from my worry as other things have replaced it. Usually I can explain my dreams to myself, however, this dream was very unrelated to anything I had thought about or visited for months. Very direct, short, and disturbing.
The dream takes place in a bay area of sorts, with lots of marine life - whales, dolphins, fish. They all seem to be swimming around peacefully, when all of a sudden, a giant man rises out of the water and stands up, grabbing up an orca whale with one hand. He tosses the whale into his mouth, and it struggles for it's life, half in and half out of the giant mouth. The man swallows, and the orca disappears from view. One of the most disturbing aspects of the dream was that it took place in real speed, instead of slow motion like you would expect when dealing with giant things.
Right afterwards, I woke up. The dream was non-lucid, and I saw it in front of me although it didn't seem as though I was involved in the dream. It felt more like watching a short video clip... The entire dream seemed to last no more than 2 minutes while I was dreaming it.
If you can offer any insight as to what this could mean, It would be interesting. Every now and then I will have a dream that truely seems symbolic and out of place, and this dream felt like that. I had not thought about whales, sea life, eating, or been to an aquarium or bay anytime recently preceding the nightmare.
