      stange dream

Right. This is my first post, so if I say something wrong or stupid, I'm sorry!! Anyway I had a dream last night that I can't explain. First off, a bit about me to let you know. I'm 20, and I'm studying abroad. I'm English, but studying german and Italian for a year in Austria.

Anyway, I was in a large house. It seemed familiar, like the house I was born in (which wasn't very big, but seemed big as I was young when we moved), but I'm not 100% sure. I don't know why, but it was definately England, but with all the foreign students that are studying here in Austria (none of them are English). I then recieved a voicemail on my phone from one of my friends here in Austria and after listening to it (I can't remember what it said), I sat down on fromt of the television on a chait like I find in my kitchen at home in England and got my hair cut by a girl over here that I have a massive crush on, and I plan to ask her out today. As far as I know, she isn't a hairdresser or anything!! On the television was 2 music videos. One was by the zutons (an English band that I listened to recently after not listening to them for a while) and one by Kylie (no interest in her music, but may have read a news article about her recently). In the Kylie video was a pair of tv presenters (the chuckle brothers) from my childhood, who I really liked! Then, I woke up.

I've never had a dream like this before ever! Is there any significance to this dream, or am I just being silly?? Thanks in advance!!

Interesting how there are many ties to your childhood in your dream.

I think your dream may be just reciprocating a feeling of being at home and comfortable in your new situation.

I don't think that your dream is trying to give you any advice about this girl however. She is an aspect of your waking life and therefore is being incorporated into your dreams. I suspect that if you think on it, you may find the act of having your hair cut at home stems from childhood memories as well. Or perhaps having your hair cut is just comforting which ties into the main theme of the dream, being at ease.

      thanks

Thanks for your opinions. Yeah, I do feel a lot more at ease now then when I first came. But the strange thing is, is that I've never had a dream involving that house before. Maybe it's due to the snow. There's knee high snow here and the last time I saw snow, I was living in that house (but was too young to remember it).

I was mainly wondering about getting the haircut, as I've never dreamt about this before. Although some people say I need a haircut.....

What's different about your dream is so many real life things in it. Does that happen a lot?
I guess when that happens it's about the attached emotions, and it's really for you to interpret by examing your emotions for each item in the dream. But I think Willthepathfinder is right, you are probably just feeling at home where you are without expecting to. You see, growing up and moving out isn't so bad, now isn't it
