Fish can be regarded simply as basic spiritual concepts. Fishing would imply trying to catch hold of a spiritual concept - but with the expectation that the concept will provide you with emotional satisfaction (because we assume that the fish are meant to be eaten when go fishing) The spiritual situation (the pond) in which this is being done appears quite correct. (pond was clear) As a pond usually suggests a small body of water, the scene may imply that where you are trying to get a hold on some spiritual concept with the intent of having emotional satisfaction from it, you might not want to make this an important issue. [This would be because spiritual concepts come originally from God and whether we like or enjoy them is irrelevant; they are simply to be honoured as are the Ten Commandments]
This way of viewing this scene seems supported by the fact that you cannot recall catching a fish and by the switch to a game show scene. The game show can imply a situation in which something is not to be taken seriously (it's a game) and is just "for show".
On a physical level fishing can suggest being "on a fishing expedition" - trying to get information, often using incorrect or improper ways to find things out. You may also be "fishing for compliments" perhaps.
PS. All dreams do mean something - if you have enough knowledge of symbols to see the meaning.
