      passed away father in dreams

My dad passed away when i was 3 and i never have dreams about him and a few nights ago i did heres the dream:

Me my sister and my Mom went to the house we lived in when my dad passed away, They went inside, and i stayed in the back seat of the car playing a game boy advance or ipod or something. And then i looked up and saw him there staring at me from the front seat of the car.

The Dream is very literal here. Here, your Father was looking in on you. Welcome it, or say "Thanks, Dad" and perhaps he won't be such a stranger for now on.

I and my father did not get along so well when he was alive, but we've seemed to have made up for it in my dreams, and not a week goes by when he is not in one dream or another.

What stands out to me is your sitting in the back seat of that car. You're not leading yourself the way in your course in life, just idling on a game and not taking action.
Perhaps (and I think this would be typical) is that you are still depending on your father's guidance even after he is gone, as if waiting for him.

      They still live on

I am not in the same train of thought as Leo.
I believe that a dream character is nothing more than a augmentation of your subconscious.
I would like to believe it would be my mother who was for real looking in on me. But it seems a stretch to me. Would that mean all the aliens I have had in my dream or the seven hundred pound DC are real? Well you can believe what you wish.
For me it still is a remarkable experience to see a deceased loved one in such an atmosphere as a dream. I enjoy every moment, more over if I am lucid. I then can talk to them.
Granted it also seems odd to think all your doing is really talking to yourself in a manner of speaking. But it is an in depth outlook to what each DC response and your subconscious implementing all these unforeseen changes.
