This is a dream I had that I’m trying to make sense of.
I was watching a sitcom. A scene took place in the living room of a house. There were two white male roommates. One was blond and the other was a brunette. The blond had friends in the backyard and asked the brunette to join them. The brunette said he was waiting for an old friend to visit him, so the blond went into the backyard. Then the doorbell rings and the brunette answered it. It’s his friends and the audience laughs. His friend is an overweight black male. He was wearing a black do-rag, white tank top, grey slacks, and snakeskin high heels. The brunette has an awkward look on his face. He’s glad to see his friend, but wants an explanation about his appearance. The black male says he’s gay. He also says that he prefers wearing women’s shoes because they’re more comfortable. The brunette is worried. He doesn’t want the other guys to his friend looking the way he is. The brunette asked the black male if he has other shoes to change into. He does and goes to his car. The brunette feels bad for being ashamed of his friend’s lifestyle and choices, but he doesn’t want the others to know his friend’s gay or think that he’s gay. The black male returns and the audience laughs. He’s now wearing snakeskin flats and he goes to sit on the couch. The brunette is shocked and asks if that’s all he has. The black male says yes and wonders what’s the big deal. The brunette tries to explain his feeling but he hears the back door starting to open. Out of fear, he orders the black man to take his shoes off. He quickly kicks them off. The brunette says act natural and the black man crosses his legs. All the while the audience is laughing. A man and his son, who looks about 8, enter the living the room. They awkwardly stare at the black man and the shoes and the black man just smiles. The brunette forces a smile. The audience laughs hysterically and even starts clapping as the man and his son leave the house. The brunette looked embarrassed.
The men in my dream looked to be late 20s early 30s. If it helps at all, I'm in my early 20s, I'm straight and I'm black (but not overweight).
