      Please Help ..Confusing Dream

I had a perfectly awful night. I wanted to improve on my dream tech., so I did some yoga breathing tech. to relax. I fell asleep fairly quickly. In my dream, I was being taunted and laughed at by a dark figure. I couldn't see his face at first. The dark figure hit me across the head with some object and laughed gleefully. Talk about feeling your dreams....Anyway, I next found myself on a table, unable to move. I saw the shadow figure over me, laughing and holding a bloody sickle. I was then able to lift my head and see that my legs were cut off. I said " thank god this is only a dream". At that moment a face appeared from the dark shadow, I was a little suprised and startled. It was my face that appeared, and It said "No, your not dreaming", then raised the sickle and cut off my head sending it rolling into a corner.I watched him dance with maddness until everything went black.
I woke up quickly and noticed my alarm clock was not working, and flashing 222. I got out of bed to go get a drink and an asprin for my splitting headache. As I was walking down the hall, I noticed it wasn't my place, but one I had rented 2 years before. I was still sleeping. It was so real. A light was on in the computer room, I walked in to turn off the light. Thats when I saw a baby crib were the computer use to be. There was blood all over the crib and walls. The blanket moved. I walked toward the crib stealthly, about to throw up and said to my self " if I dont wake up soon, I'm going to pee myself'. As I was thinking that my head comes out of the blanket and screams "GO THEN, WHO WANTS YOU HERE ANYWAY!!. I was so startled that I woke up again. This time I tried to turn on the light, and it wouldn't work. "Am I still dreaming @ why?" is all I said aloud. I then woke up......what do you make of this dream?

I think you missed a great opportunity to go lucid. You had 2 false awakenings with clear dream signs - alarm clock, light failure.

Think about how close you were to being lucid and tell yourself next time the light doesn't work I will realize I'm dreaming.

      Emphasize this positive approach.

Frightening content can be a doorway to lucidity.

Most people have some scary dreams on the way to lucid mastery. And it appears that this happens more frequently for men. If you worry too much about the content you will generate feeedback strengthening your fear and replicating the dream.

HOPALONG THIS IS CLEARY A DREAM ABOUT DEATH AND YOU ARE GOING TO DIE!

The first part is you tied down on a table with your legs cut off. You are unable and it probably involves a gathering of people. The black hooded figure is the Grim Reaper with your face, it is your own doing. He cuts off your head which goes into a corner, your rational intellect and wisdom is gone with nowhere to go. You have no justification. His statement that you are not dreaming probably means that this matter is real, and not just a silly thought.

The second part begins with a false awakening, you’re becoming aware. The clock doesn't work, there's nothing telling you what you need to know. Clocks that don't work may also represent death. The headache also means you are going in the wrong direction. It's an old apartment, something that was going on back then. The bloody crib is where the computer was, your head under the blanket is your rational intellect, the light is minor understanding, and the blanket is concealment and shelter from the outside world. You remain ignorant under the blanket. Whatever you were doing on the pc two years ago is the source of you're becoming so ignorant and irrational.

The third part is the other false awakening. You try to turn on the light but it won't work. This means there are no answers where there should be.

A lot of dreams come in three parts. I don't know how relevant it is that you were lucid, or what 222 could mean. In the first part you just see that you are going to die because of yourself. In the second you see how irrational you are. In the third you see a lack of answers and feedback.

Conclusion: You are going down a foolish path and you know your life is in danger, but do not choose to know.

      Wow, man!

I don't agree with everything that Inspirer wrote, but I think he nailed some of it. He's getting you started.

Wow, I'm trying to start LDing again after a many year hiatus. I am just laughing because I know this is what I'm going to be looking forward to.

Keep trying. Keep trying. You'll get there!
