      Interesting Dream

I really can't make any sense of this. Help, please.

So, I'm at my school. However it's basically a distopia. Not in a nuclear waste way.. but it's dark. Dreary. Haunting. I immediately am unsettled.

      Everyone is unrecongisable.

The entire dream is not worth explaining but there's one part.. that I really just am taken aback by

A boy with short dark brown hair, dressed in a grunge-like style begins to fight me. Rather, he provoked me and I lashed out. We are basically even in strength. After I'm tired of the whole escapade I reach into his body and pull out his soul.

      Then I wake up.

      "Your soul is mine"

this phrase can have an interesting symbolic meaning.

Patricia Garfield suggests that when provoked or attacked by DC's you should fight back and defeat them.

Paul Tholey suggests confrontation and questioning.

You can try closing your eyes and asking the boy "Who are you", see what answer appears.

Not a lot to work with, but I don't mind taking a free swing at it. I could miss completely, who knows.

The school being dark and dreary suggests to me a bad childhood and an arrested development. Not recognizing anything could be the bias skewed perception of things because of all the negativity to which you have been subjected. The boy could represent your masculine side, either the anima or the animus, according to Jung. Ripping out his soul was quite agressive.

Putting it all together, you did not have the best childhood, and as a result you see truth in a darker light, and have lost touch with the more feminine side of you while becoming more barbaric.

I'm not too confident, let me know how accurate it sounds.

Hey, wait a minute, since when is Barbarism not a female trait? My dukes are up, baby!

I'd like to hear the whole dream. You say it's "not worth explaining," but maybe that's because the meaning is clear to you. It might elucidate the entire dream for the rest of us.

What strikes me about the boy you punch (pun intended) are the specific details. What do these details: "short dark hair and grunge-like style" mean to you? These are specific attributes and probably have a personal meaning for you. How do you feel about grunge?

By grunge I don't mean Kurt Cobain, but just kind of grungey look. Greasey hair... just a bet messy. That's what I mean by grunge.
