      Overdose

Last night I had a dream that clearly had some important meaning to it, and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure it out.

      ---
In my dream, I was in the kitchen of a house - a large room seperated from the living room by a sort of makeshift sheet that had been hung in the doorless frame that connected the two rooms. I was prepairing for the night, cleaning things up and being productive, as I was expecting some guests. My boyfriend pushed through the sheet and came into the room, and was acting really strange: hyper, giddy and out of character. I asked him what was up and he told me he'd just taken two exacty pills. I started getting angry, knowing how dangerous it could be and he said, 'Hey, at least I didn't take all three,' and producted a small white pill from his pocket.

I went to his side, and in total anger, forced him to take the third pill. He started swaying and looking ill, and a moment later started being sick everywhere. I stepped away from him, and when he was done, he looked up at me, and said, 'God, I'm never doing that again,' which I was really relieved for, even though he had to suffer to get to that point.
      ---

In reality, my boyfriend doesn't even touch drugs, but doesn't have an incredibly healthy lifestyle either (aka, not eatting for a few days, and getting pissed when I talk to him about it). The drugs repersent something else, I know, but does anyone have any guesses on this? I definetly don't have these types of dreams very often.

      Thanks!

HHHEEELLLLLLOOO, he'll go for a few days without eating and gets angry when you talk about it???
Clearly there's something wrong with him, and I don't suspect anorexia because that's not the pattern. I think he DOES do drugs.

well, it almost seems as though you already have the answer.

You are obviously concerned becuase you know he is engaging in some sort of self destructive/addictive behavior. This can manifest itself in anything from drugs, caffeine consumption, even getting too involved in our dreams or shopping can be an addiction.

EX: No one would think that the guy who plays XBOX and drinks Mt. Dew all day has an addiction problem, BUT - if it gets to the point where he cannot sleep at night, will not go to work, and forgets to eat, THEN it is a problem with addiction.

Addiction is simply a self destructive behavior that effects other aspects of our lives negatively. This can include drugs but dosen't have to even involve a substance at all. None of us actually know him so we can't give you a concrete answer. The point is: what does he do that effects him negatively? Is there anything that he does compulsively?

If nothing here rigns true to you than the only other thought I have is that the BF in your dream may represent someone else - again this is something only you will be able to figure out.
