The Death Bomb and The Singing Girl

Disaster Dreams are common, and often people dream of tornados. In this dream the ‘tornado’ was augmented with explosives, and as the dream progressed there was the realization that the phenomena was an actual prototype of a weapon – a tornado that would be perpetuated by a constant series of explosions.

This particular Tornado Bomb was being tested and directed by a team of engineers. It was getting very close to one of the factory buildings, and although everyone was being assured that the Tornado Bomb was well under control, when it was just across the street, I decided to speak up and have the thing stopped and went out and spoke to the Test Engineer. He was a young man and at first attempted to reassure me of the controllability of the Weapon Design, but I insisted that safety margins must be respected and the Tornado Bomb shut down. It was simply too close to the buildings and the workers.

You know, I never used to be so assertive in my dreams… or rather, so assertive while still being civilized about it.

Then, as the Tornado Bomb was deactivated, the young Test Engineer was replaced in the Dream by a young woman who took up the argument, only I can hardly remember what the discussion was about. But whatever her concerns were, I was able to satisfy her that she had nothing to worry about, and she was soon pacified.

While still being attractive, she was an imposing girl with a strong physical presence. It occurred to me that she was at least an equal physical match for me – that I would be careful not to provoke her to violence because I could not be entirely certain of a favorable outcome for myself. She was big and strong enough to kick my ass, in other words. But still, well, lady-like.

Soon we were walking together down the street, and I found myself complementing her upon her singing. Well, this is odd, since I can’t really remember her having sung. It reminds me of a dream several weeks ago in which I brought a young lady home to meet my mother and introduced her as a singer and began playing her CD in my mother’s CD Player. I was surprised when “New York New York” began to play. She was doing okay, but it wasn’t great… she was no new Ethel Merman or anything. And I was puzzled by her choice of material – “New York New York” being kind of campy for a contemporary selection. But this girl in this dream, without remembering what she had sung, I was complementing with effusive praise.

Oh… the other night I had a dream with my brother. He was singing some original songs, which impressed me as quite clever – good compelling melodies with catchy, cute and tricky lyrics. And he was a strong showman and took the audience quite in hand. But then he committed a ludicrous faux pas – remember that these were new and original songs. He asked the crowd at one point to ‘sing along’ and was surprised to be met with a total bewildered silence. There I had to speak up and explain that while we all thought his song was absolutely great, there was the problem of everyone not knowing it through yet.

I guess the tornado bomb is fierce arguement, particularly as a destructive force, not constructive. The young man who was in charge is a part of you that was naive and you caught onto it. He was replace by the "strong lady" who is another part of you; elegant, recessive, ginger, and strong but not confrontational; a personality development.
Then there's the issue of singing, in all three dreams you report. Is singing a hobby and skill in your waking life?

Throughout the months I observe you on this website you vary between profound and angry. Half the time you are very interesting and deep, the other half you are snobbish and easily angered. Anyway, the Test Engineer was insisting that the Tornado Bomb WAS under control. But, yes, I did think it WAS getting a bit too close to the buildings and the people.

If you are correct, then you should see me significantly 'improve', since I in fact was able to have the Bomb shut down on the spot. It was like what I told the Young Man who was Exorcises -- that it did not matter any longer whether he had once had a Demon or not, since the Dream so Obviously was successful in Exorcising him (all the Symbolism there indicated a complete Spiritual Cleansing).

In your model of my Dream, I do find it positive that the Young Woman is so, well, imposing. She was no thin slip of a thing. I remember thinking that I could not safely make her angry. And yet we did argue for a minute about something. I forget what it was, but she had some concerns which she was requiring me to give her some reassurances for. I only remember being concerned that I could not satisfy what was making her so anxious... so close to being angry.

But all at once she was totally appeased and became the Singing Girl. In this Model of Yours, then this would indicate that my Body of Work, here, will become, even more, poetic, creative and intuitive.

I guess we will see.

In your favor, I have been seeing some significant developments in my Dream Persona. I've been surprising myself. In dream after dream I have been stepping forward with intelligent and diplomatic skills at conflict resolution. I had actually been 'smooth' with these things. Sort of 'out of character', no? But, yes, if my Waking Persona would follow along, it would make something of a new me, wouldn't it?

I suppose it might have started when I started to do much more Team and Group activities in my Dreams. One representative dream was my thinking of Producing a Play centered around that nice semi-reggie song "I Can See Clearly Now". Then I came across a Show Production, and I went and found the producer and offered to 'buy in' as I wanted to be involved with exactly a project like that anyway. Instead of doing it all myself, I was willing to join into a general effort in the same direction. Instantly the Stage Manager came and asked me to follow him and we went up a Mountain. It seems I had Passed some Test.
