Distrust of the Status Quo
This is a dream about distrust of the Status Quo!

When you get suspicous of society and ask questions to break away from the collective psyche you are met with resistance, maybe from within you such as force of habit or from others, but you have overcome this and are thinking freely.

You have trouble adjusting to your new relationships and feel alienated and distant. You don't understand what you see. The aliens, massive and armored, sound like militarism or demagoguery, but definitely something new and you don't understand and are major forces in society.

I believe the timing you wake up is part of the dream and its meaning. The last scene (and I wish you drew a picture of it) is of the essence. You ultimately feel alienated from everything.

I speculate that you are a teenager and a bit of an outcast who cannot relate. You do not understand and do not trust the ways of society. Eventually you'll come to grips and understand society better, for now you just have a lot of unanswered and unasked questions. You don't even know what they are yet.
