      Disturbing childhood dream...

Hi, I had a unsetteling lucid dream when i was a child. I can remember this dream in detail. Anyway, this one dream has caused me to fear things that should not be feared.. People call me a horrible person for having this fear... I think i was about 6 or 7 when i had the dream... Anyway, i'll just describe the dream and you'll get the point...

The dream takes place in a grade school class room. The teacher has just completed a lesson, and has called the class to attention. She points to a chalk board with a picture of an arm, a knife and an artificial replacement. I am stifled in fear as i peer into my notebook and see the same directions in my book. In the dream i am panicing in fear (of which i still feel today), I look into my desk and there is a knife and an artificial limb.. I see all my peers are doing as they were told. There is a strong theme of comformity, here.. I hide under my desk in complete terror, I can't run. The teacher sees that i am resisting and gives me a cold stare, she walks over and grabs my arm, the children have all surrounded me at this point. She points to the rest of the class as they all have complied with her request. This is were this nightmare ends..

This is a very disturbing dream needless to say. I'm not sure what it means. I am sickened by this fear, I do not want to feel this way. These artificial tools are good and help people regain thier lives and freedoms. It is positive, i keep telling myself this. But i cannot shake the fear. An incident in my life of a similar topic might have been a contributing factor to this dream as well.. I was maybe 3 or 4 years old, and my family and i went to visit my grandfather who was just out of hospital. His wheelchair was in the living room and i was intrigued by it.. I climbed in, was having a blast playing around this gigantic chair...Then... My mother comes in screaming full on, and became even tearfull.. Needless to say i was scared shittless, and couldn't even go near a wheelchair for a time, and even became fearfull of hospitals. Later on I overcame that problem. Now, the reason she reacted in such a way, i later learned was that she had rheumatic fever when she was young and spent quite some time in a wheelchair. I have a fear of artificial limbs (incase i did not make that clear). The reason i mention all this is because, i think there is a connection between the fear and the dream. Please don't judge me, I know it is very ignorant, and i apologize to everyone.

Can anyone help intrepret this dream? And hopefully some light might be shed on this issue..

      Thank you.

I think your fear of atrifical limb was incorporated into your dream in shape of danger of cutting arm. Because of the fear you seemed to be expectating complication - and they came (teacher and classmates turned evil).
Lucid Count: 60 (a lot from dream reentry and recognizing FA)
Experiencing uncommon problems is a way to debunk inaccurate theories and find the truth.
