So, a teenage girl tells you guys about a strange, sexual dream she's been having, and you reply telling her to masturbate and look at porn? That's one of the sickest things I've had the displeasure of reading. I am sorely disappointed.
In reply to the original question, I'll just say that it's your choice, but you can't choose the consequences for what you do. I personally say that you are not responsible for what happens in your non-lucid dreams, but if you want a more simple waking life, then just try to forget your dream fantasies and do NOT try to satisfy lust. When it comes to sexual desire, nothing is ever enough. It will take over your life.
Yes, a lot of people may masturbate, but that doesn't make it natural. What's natural is lust, every human feels it, but finding clever ways to satisfy it is not natural.
Okay, after almost two months, everyobdy replying to tiakitty, has given her masturbation tips, or their opinions on masturbation. No-one I have seen has given her an actual interpretation of her dream, which is, I believe, what this forum is all about. So... here's mine:
Well, it's clear to me that this dream is about repressed sexual feelings... I think that's very obvious, and most on this thread have picked up on it. In this case, the dream character on whom your repressed sexual feelings are projected, a sort of token sex object, is your hot guy, and Jack Sparrow. It's very common for a fictional chracter, or movie actor, to be the focus of sexual feelings... actually, to be TOTALLY honest, even as a straight guy, I have to admit, Johnny Depp... yeah. Yum.
Well, the black stallion, along the white sand, on a beach... well, I can't say anything specific, and I don't believe in a lot of this "dream symbology" stuff, but, this section of the dream seems to convey a certain sense of simplicity, and/or innocence. Jack appears and scares off your horse. Perhaps, this sort of indicates that lust or sexual urges, embodied in the delicious Captain Jack, have "scared away" the horse, who was, sort of, your security maybe? You've been literally caught off-balance in this dream by the intrusion of your sexual urges.
You get carried away, somewhat against your will, by your sexual desires/urges, embodied by Jack. I think this is fairly obvious.
Okay, in the real world, rape is obviously a terrible thing. But in a dream, it might mean something different. I think in the dream, it means that, your sexual desire, Jack, has taken over. And, you are experiencing this against your will, meaning maybe that you are uncomfortable about this.
You've "given in" to your sexual desire. You've given over to sexual desire and urges, and found yourself enjoying it.
The key thing to remember her, tiakitty, is: DONT panic, don't think that this part of the dream means you fantasise about being raped, or that you have some desire to be raped, or that you might enjoy it. And, don't think yourself "sick" for having this dream. The way I see it, the "rape" in this dream represents an unwillingness or nervousness to engage in sexual activity... even with yourself. Strange though it may sound the "rape" in the dream, I do not believe is meant to be an ACTUAL rape. Does that make sense?
Well, now that I've given an interpretation, I hope you'll let me add my own two cents. This dream, indeicates to me that you are/were considering "indulging" your normally repressed sexual feelings, but, you do so almost against your own will at first, but the dream indicates that... like you say, you are uneasy about doing so.
My feelings: You say you are in your late teens. 16-19? I'd say around 16 or 17, but, don't be offended, that's just my guess. You also seem to come from a very christian family, with very strict views on sex.
I'm not reccomending that you go out and indulge your sexual feelings and have sex. I thin that, at such a young age, this isn't the best thing, and is likely to harm you. Masturbation is a safe, fun, personal way to let yourself indulge your sexual urges, and let go for a little while your "repressive" attitude. I'm not reccomending you look at porn, corrupt yourself, or anything like that. But, I don't think there is anything wrong with masturbation. Totally opposed to what Symbiotic Entity said: masturbation is natural. And, it is a SAFE way of indulging in sexual urges. And, I think at your age, being safe, is of paramount importance.
I appreciate your interpretation of that The Blue Meanie. It means a lot to me. But the dreams are back even though I am.... well....you know what I am talking about(the M-word). And THIS time it is either with Jack Sparrow(of course) or Nicolae Carpathia(he is Antichrist in the Left-Behind seires. These are based more on being his sex slave than lover). As to my family being strict Christians, yeah right. I am the only one in my immediate family who cares about and wants to go to church. My parents and sister could care less. I just was not sure whether masturbation was a sin or not but a friend pointed it out with actual evidence from the Bible that it is OK to do.
I'm an atheist myself, but, I'm familiar with this book series. It's quite well-written, though, it does "dry out" a little. I understand the implication of having a sex dream about Carpathia. He is... a very seductive figure, in the book, though somewhatr "darker" than Depp's Jack Sparrow.
Now... a word of warning, and please take this with a grain of salt since I am an atheist, so my beliefs may not co-incide with yours.
If you are looking for whether something is a sin or not, the Bible may not be the BEST place to look. If you read the bible, you will also find that it condones animal sacrifice, polygamy, genocide, and a bunch of other nasty crimes. Particularly the Old Testament, but also to a more limited extent, the New Testament. Now, I do not believe in objective morality, but, I believe each persona has their own subjective moral values which they choose to adhere to.
Now: THIS IS IMPORTANT:
I'm taking a Christian perspective in the following, despite myself being an atheist:
If you want to find out if something is a Sin, reading the bible may not find the answer. Also, it isn't that fantastic to support whether or not something is a Sin.
Rather, if you wish to find out if something is a Sin or not, you should instead, look inside yourself. From a Christian perspective, each human has a "spark" of the Divine, of the Lord. God supposedly implanted humanity, each and every member, with an instinctive knowledge of what is right, and what is wrong. This may not have been present in the two original humans, Adam and Eve, but was in future generations.
It is from THIS that Sin originates: To Sin, is not to do something that a 2000-year-old book is "wrong". To Sin is to do something which you know yourself is wrong, this knowledge being a result of the knowledge you have of Good and Evil, obtained by Adam and Eve from the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden.
So, instead of looking to the bible to find out if something is a Sin: Look inside yourself. Try to figure out how you feel about something, totally apart from education and family-implanted morality. For what you TRULY feel about something is a far more accurate way of telling if something is a Sin, than the words of the Bible. Trust your instincts.
Uh, well considering they partook of the forbidden fruit, they would most definitely get their own consequences. And from how I interpret the Bible, the knowledge of good and evil is simply our morals, not a dictionary of sins.Quote:

Instead of asking us or your friend if masturbating is a sin, Tiakitty, why not just try asking God in prayer, and expecting a feeling of either right or wrong in return? If you believe in the Bible, then this is completely possible.
but! if you do it while your in a relationship, then its considered adultery, a big bad sin.
In a relationship?
So like you would be having an affair on you gf with urself...
No it is not "against" God's law to masturbate, in the bible it does mention "being unclean" and how you can go about "cleansing yourself" after such an act. I'm not sure exactly.

That site has many views of the different religions, one being that masturbation is a form of adultery, which I disbelieve entirely.
( Imagine your girl/boyfriend dumping you because you were seeing your "hand" in secret. <_< )
Hmm...
I'm just going to say this, since I'm sure if I get too involved in this thread, I'll just end up picking out all the discrepancies in people's beliefs, and I don't enjoy doing it. That said, here's my point of view in the whole thing:
To have dreams of sex are perfectly fine, and to masturbate is fine too. If anything, both just suggest you have a perfectly healthy libido. Nothing wrong with that, no matter what some people and bits of the Bible may say. As for your religious beliefs, if you want to believe and go to church, go ahead, its your choice to do so. However, when it comes to defining Sin and what's wrong or not, then that comes from your perception of what is right or wrong. The Bible is merely a guide on how to help you define your morality and your relationship with God. As for your sexuality, feel free to explore it within your dreams, you never know, you may end up learning more about yourself.
LordSturm, just curious, but if a thread is over half a year old, why revive it? If the conversation has obviously ended, why bump it up? This is not the first time you've revived a post these past couple of days...
If you think your post will make a huge difference after such a long time, then that's alright, but keep in mind that most people find it annoying to read up an extremely old post because it has been bumped up.
Only Demon Childs Masturbate!!! Shame on You Girl!!!!!!!
sorry to "revive an old post" but my personal opinion is that there are contrasts in your dream between you being on the black horse, then onto the white sand which i think of as purity, innocence etc and the way jack sparrow carries you like a bride (brides wear white, symbolic of innocence) and onto the black pearl, which is the opposite of white, and therefore innocence. i don't know why you start off on the black horse, however, since you are innocent to start with.
personally, i think masturbation is normal and you should do whatever you feel like doing
I am also very interested in the effects of sex on lucidity within a dream. I have yet to have a lucid dream, and I'm wondering if maybe it could have something to do with sexual activity.
