Thread: I Had A Dream In 1985

Before I tell you my dream, here is some background information that I believe will be usefull. I will try to make this short. Me and my best friend picked up a hitch hiker in 1985. The hitchhiker ended up shooting the both of us in the car. We were both shot from behind because the hitchiker was in the backseat of my car. I was shot through the back shoulder blade and hit on the head with his gun. My friend was shot in the neck instantly paralizing him. After the hitchiker shot us he took us out of the car and drove away. We were both taken to the hospital. I stayed for 3 days. My friend never left the hospital and died 3 weeks later from complications. After I left the hospital I went back home to my Mother's house were I continued recovery. One night I had a dream.

Here's the dream:
I drempt that I was in an open grassy field and along the edge of the open field was a forest. Then all of a sudden my friend that was in the hospital came out to the edge of the forest so I could see him. He starting calling me over and guesturing with his hand to go into the forest with him. The forest looked dark to me and I was scared so I told my friend no.

When I woke up:
I woke up at 3:00am very scared. I stayed up a little while and then went back to sleep. Then my Mother woke me up later about 9 or 10 am to tell me that my friend that was in the hospital had died. I asked my Mother if anyone had told her what time my friend had died and she told me 3:00am.

I have an idea of what this dream means but I would like to have other opinions to confirm.

First of all, I just want to say that I'm sorry for the tragedy you and your friend had to go through. In regard to your dream I think that it was your friend visiting you in your dream in spirit and he was symbolically asking you to come with him to "cross over" since he did not want you two to part ways and you telling him no may have meant that you were telling him that you're not ready to cross over and join him yet.

I'm very sorry for the experience you had to go through and i hope you have a safe rest of your life...

very spooky indeed, this dream you had seems to very closly related to your friends death... The forest represents death (of course) and i believe that your friend wanted someone to accompany him on his passage beyond...

I think that you should of followed him and been with him (i dont think that you would of died doing so)

Was your friend scared of the forest too???

I had no idea that the forest represented death. Very interesting. I had this dream before I knew about lucid dreaming. Although the forest has never been a scary thing for me or my friend (we went camping once), for some reason I was to scared to go with him. A part of me told me not to go there.

I am happy to say that this man that shot us was eventually caught. I was the main witness at the trial and he has been sitting in death row since 1986. Thats interesting that you mention that my friend wanted me to cross over with him. About 1 week before my friend passed away, he had called me to go visit him. I didn't have a car then and my Mother didn't take me before he passed. In some way I feel that he wanted to see me one more time before crossing over. And yes, I was not ready to cross over because I discovered Jesus after this incadent, so God still had a lot for me to do here on earth.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you. Nobody should have to go through something like that, but it's good to hear that the bastard who did is behind bars.

There have been a lot of reports about this kind of dreaming. For instance, my grandma was sleeping one night, and in her dream she saw her dad, and he told her "Everything's going to be all right. Don't worry, everything's going to be all right."

She awoke to her phone ringing, and when she picked it up she was informed that her dad had passed away.

It's weird, isn't it? I'd assume his spirit was trying to contact you one last time before moving on, and maybe you would've 'crossed over' to if you had gone into the forest? Who knows now, really.
