So I Had A Dream About Meeting The Devil...

What do you think having the devil in your dream means?

well heres what happened...

I am walking around a hotel at nite, and i start to walk out in the streets (keep in mind cars are going like 45-50 miles an hour) , like a highway or something. well, i end up turning around, and i walk across the intersection to the side of the road, and cars stop before me. then i run into a couple guys, one of the is older than me and i continue walking near him towards the hotel. He looks intellegent and everything, not like a thug or anything.

then we;re inside the hotel, my mom gets angry at me for going out into the middle of the street. that guy just turns and looks at me, unamused. (my moms is in front of me, that guy is to my right). then i forget the conversation, but i think i talk to him, and i remember his face slowly turning into the devil's, and his body turning into a centuar (the sagittarius in astrology).

then i remember, in the dream, seeing a vision of me training (fighting, trying to push each other in different direction, running up into each other and trying to see who gets knocked down, at speeds of like 45 mph) with the devil-centaur.

then its 1st person again, and we're in this forest, im on this hill, the devil guy is human again. except he looks more friendly then the last time i saw him as human. but this time i'm freaking out, i feel i need to trap him from getting to me.

i then suddenly start pulling trees out of the ground around me and throwing them down at the devil. he is in this small stream, and my trees slowly start to make a huge 10-foot pile. but then i fall a little and get stuck. hes stuck too. he starts to call out at me, and says he can see my hand (my body is pinned down and only my face and right hand are visable) . then i'm unstuck and i continue to keep pulling trees out of the ground and throwing them down at the devil,. well , the dream ends after that.

Well, this really depends a lot on your religious views, probably. Honestly, I don't believe in all those sorts of spirituality (no offense to those who do), so I'll give my views outside the context of a spiritual revelation of some sort.

If you're religious (like you're Christian and you actually mean it), it may be your mind subconsciously telling you that you're doing something that it doesn't like. For example, if you've been perhaps been getting into bad habits or doing "sinful" things more recently than ever, it might be represented via your "hanging out" with the devil.

If you're not (and, honestly, I think this is a more likely interpretation even if you are semi-religious), it could be just a cool adventure story, because either you may be interested in movies like that or something or it was just something your subconscious mind thought was cool.

Those are my best guesses, anyways. Take 'em or leave 'em.

If this was a non-lucid I don't think there's any reason to be overly worried.
I had a similar dream when I was a kid, where two pancakes I was watching rise in the oven (pancakes in the oven?!- it was a dream) turned into the heads of two demons.
I think as D-Draw says its probably some aspect of yourself.

On the other hand if it was a lucid or and "Astral Projection"-type-thing then I would be concerned.

This depends on whether you believe in this stuff but I'm not convinced there aren't sinister beings out there and I think one should always be careful who one talks to when exploring different states of consciousness.

just to clarify, this was a non-lucid dream, no special awareness, not OBE, and i was not aware in any way that it was a dream. and as for religious, i'm not attached to any religion and open to anything.

that sounds like a helluva devilishly intense dream.

I think it was just a semi-nightmare and there's nothing to be concerned about. Your mind was just screwing with you

Seeing the devil in your dream signifies negative aspects of yourself. Or it could mean you are harboring guilt. I also read that trees represent deeply rooted ideas. But i donnio about the whole throwing them thing. Fallen trees mean your off balance and out of sync so maybe that.

devils i think just represent something bad or, as someone else said, the guilt in your life. i know you got a coupel responses to this (devils are popular, eh?) but we do need to know about your personal life. this could or could not relate to your actual life but who knows.... YOU DO! ;]

I see these dreams are synonymous with sayings such as,
Better the Devil you know,
You'd be better with the Devil,
When hell freezes over,
Hell would be better,
between the Devil and the deep blue sea, and so on.
Therefore in periods of uncertainty these dreams came.
