Hey man,
thank you for your reply and for providing the links.
You are right on some points about dreams denoting the aspects of real life, i understand that perfectly.
I had some dreams like that, but most of my dreams, as i experience and write them down constantly, are prophetic dreams, one dream of a past life and many dreams given to me or influenced by higher powers , either girls from the astral plane or real life human beings with a higher awareness or coming from the worlds beyond by just anybody there.
I know also that the mind is heavily involved and our own desires are expressed in dreams, such as things happening outside the dreamer in reality, like playing music, i think i have posted a topic here about that, was it "musical dreamfigures aroused by playing music during sleep?".
So dreams consists of many factors.
I posted on http://www.indiadivine.com/audarya/forum53/ some topics and i got a reply from someone who wrote me about things that happen to me, these girls from the astral worlds, i mean, here it is.....
Online book Hinduism's Contemporary Metaphysics has a Chapter 35: "Sleep and Dreams".
Explains that the mind is always awake even though the body is not. When the body is sleeping the mind is still active. That there are astral lovers who visit single, not yet married, divorced, unhappily married people to satisfy their desires. Female are called apsaras, male are called gandharvas. "These are definitely experiences, astral-physical plane interface experiences as real as happenings during the waking day" (p. 548).
"Hindus say there are ...dreams conjured from the needs of the individual and ...another kind sent by the Gods" (p. 549). "Dreams from the Gods come to very religious people who live a disciplined life of sadhana: rise at four in the morning, and living Sanatana Dharma to the best of their ability to understand it (p. 550). They have attracted the attention of the Gods because they have penetrated the realm of the Gods."
So sounds like perhaps when you have certain kind of dream then you may have psycho-social-mental needs that these apsaras fulfill for you. I think best if you read the whole chapter then you understand these dreams within the entire context of where you began in this life as a seeker and your goal.
Also this book explains that some people also have actual Darshan of the spiritual world in dreams. So perhaps that might be impetus for you to say no to apsara in dreams. There are three worlds: Bhu (Earth), Antar (Astral), and Karana (Spiritual). If you rise at four AM and live Sanatana Dharma to the best of your ability, then gradually your bhakti-lata-bija will penetrate into the spiritual realm. It can happen in this lifetime.
Since i believe in these worlds and in Gods and so on, this book is very direct and very helpful to me.
Anyway,
thankx for taking the trouble for replying and good luck !!.
Erik.
