      ground opening up

I've had recurring dreams from time to time about the ground opening up - either by earthquake or in water a huge whirlpool. Last night my dream involved lava going down the side of a step canyon/hill into the water. There was no avoiding going into the the lava whirlpool and I went. There were other people that I didn't know and the lava immediately dissolved them.

I remember not feeling any pain and the last word I said before I went under was my horse's name. Then I saw the equivalent of 'molten' colors of different shades of blues.

When I've had these dreams before - about the ground opening up beneath me, I've always managed to crawl out at the last minute. Last night was the first time that I let it take me.

I'm hoping maybe someone has some insight on this. It's still fairly vivid in my mind.

Is there some sort of temptation in your life? Something which you know is dangerous, and you want to avoid, but it's still there? Maybe this dream is telling you you're getting in over your head and it may suck you in.

Thanks for the reply! I can't think of any sort of temptation right off. It's been a weird sort of recurring dream and just sort of shook me last night when I wasn't able to escape it! I'll have to do some thinking on your reply - see if there 'is' something I'm not acknowledging.

I once had a dream about looking at the soil in an open rural area at the base of the Plants, and a voice said "the ground is living". That is me and the EARTH.

Sounds like you're giving in to something which you believe/feel is unstoppable in your life. You have "gone with the flow" which has already taken other aspects of your identity (the other people) and your sense of self is now being taken (dissolved by lava). What I take from this dream is that you don't feel you're different or special enough to believe in yourself (and avoid going with the flow).

Don't know why your horse comes into it. Does the name mean anything? Or the thought of it?

      from www.dreammoods.com

      Blue

Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. The presence of this color in your dream, may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind.

Depending on the context of your dream, the color blue may also be a metaphor of "being blue" and feeling sad.

Perhaps you have a chance of gaining wisdom through this imagery?

My horse's name is Solon, Greek for Wisdom.

I think there is a lot to what you have written BU - thank you for the response.

Thanks to everyone else who answered!

Yeah, when you mentioned Wisdom I sort took a deep breath. I'll have to meditate on it all but there's some sort of message there.
