      Bear and Tree

In last nights dream I am walking; sometimes I am alone and at other times I have a companion. I am on high ground, in the forest. I am in urgent need of climbing down. I am not sure why.

As I go from one tree to the next, I am thinking how unusually warm it is outside. I am concerned the bears might come out of hibernation, even before the winter has begun.

I am in one large tree and look out at the trees before me. I hear a grunting sound and look to the left side of the tree and I saw the head of a bear. It was black with a light brown nose and he was wearing a loin cloth.

He climbed into the tree with me. I bowed down and said "I am sorry" three times...to let him know I did not mean to intrude and to acknowledge he was more powerful than me.

Then he helped my companion across this one branch to the next lowest tree. As he did ,the branch began to make the sound of breaking. I was worried the bear would fall and I did not want to cross. I told the bear to go ahead without me. He wouldn't leave me. He wanted me to cross, more than he (sacrafice, I think).

The branch began to sparkle and so did the bear. It was time for me to cross. As he helped me cross, the branch held steady. When I arrived in the other tree, I turned to find the bear was gone. I was alone with my companion. I had been here before; on the way up...

I wonder what this dream might be indicating? Any ideas?

The bear sounds like a powerful spiritual figure for you. Your homage to him of three "I am sorry"s sounds like it has religious connotations too. The fact that you recognised his power in turn had a beneficial effect on you. That you were initially afraid of the bears suggests that you'd profer not to acknowledge the thought of a powerful spirit(s).

Wanting to go down sounds like wanting to get deeper into your unconscious. Nevertheless you didn't want to fall down, just walk.

What do you think the role of your companion here is?

I have to go, but will take a look at this thread later as there are perhaps other ideas emerging...

My companion felt like a male energy (probably the maleness inside of me). I think he may represent my courage? That makes sense, to me. He went first and then I followed. Otherwise a dream guide? I never really got a good look at him...

Thanks for looking at this with me

Its interesting that you climb to a tree, a higher place both mentally and spiritually to rest. The tree is a symbol of the universe with its roots in the earth and the underworld, the trunk in this, our material world and the branches reaching up to the upperworld and sky. You may have taken higher ground on an issue, issue and found peace there.

I'm not to good with interpretation, this was advice given to me when I had a dream about finding solace in a tree. Hope it helps =]

Thank-you. After reading your reply, I reviewed the meaning of trees, in dreams. It does seem to be representative of the spiritual realm...

Everything, in that dream of mine, seems spiritually connected, somehow?! I guess more contemplation is needed on my end

      Thank-you ...
