Self mutilation.

I had this dream awhile back (earlier this year), but I've always been curious as to what it meant cause I've never had this kinda dream before.

I was in some large, public building with family and relatives. It was a dull, browny colour. Then I went into a separate room and sat down on a small, rusty looking chair by myself. I was very calm. Then outta nowhere I had a sudden, great urge to remove all my limbs. So I took a saw and slowly started sawing at my calves (close to my ankle). I didn't completely saw off my feet, but instead, I sawed around my bone. So it was flesh then like 3 inches of bone then my foot.

At this point, I was still completely calm and felt no pain and there was no bloody mess. I then continued onto my left hand (I'm right handed). I completely chopped it off with ease. Then I wanted to do the same with my right hand. I looked at it blankly and thought to myself "Hmm... I really wanna cut it off... but I dun have my left hand to saw it off... Wonder if I can hold the saw with my teeth..." I didn't think about it much after that, and just shrugged the problem off then stood up somehow.

Then the scene changed, I was outside of the building. It was like a large mall complex. The sky was blue with a few clouds. I was walking along a footpath like bridge (made just for people) with somebody - I can't remember. That person was walking ahead of me. Anyway, I had crutches and was limping quite badly. I remember thinking to myself how I was even supporting myself upright - cause my feet were like pivoting around my bone. My nerves were totally gone, so there was no way I could control my feet. Again, I brushed off the problem and then took notice of the people around me. It was quite crowded. They were all giving me weird looks - not of horror but of disgust. Like I was crazy or something. I remember thinking "What? What are you looking at? I just felt like it, ok?"

The person in front of me slowed down and looked back at me, then told me to not mind the people and just continue walking. So I did.

Info about me: I love to draw - it's basically the only thing I'm really good at. I would never, ever live it down if something were to happen to my right hand. I've never self mutilated. I hate pain, can't stand it. I'm pretty self conscious and love to look my best in public but in the end I dun give a sh!t if people think badly of me.

Please help interpret this for me. D;

Saw that no-one has replied to your post here which is a shame. You ask a question and expect a reply so I will give you one for what its worth bearing in mind that the only dream interpretation is my many years (decades actually) on this earth but I think most dreams are just that, Dreams, with no hidden meanings. The mind explores things that you have seen or heard and builds on the subconscious memory of it during sleep. You may have seen a news story about a mutilated body and your subconsciously experimented with being the victim. OR
Cutting of legs - An attempt to test your pain threshold without success? and not cutting all the way through - being oriental, you are probably short enough and dont need to look up at people any more than you do now.
Your right hand is talented and can do all these great drawings etc but your left hand is slack. Cut it off and grow and new right hand in its place?
Everyone looking at you? but they are not looking at you but at your artwork. All the mutilation was done with your talented right hand. Are they impressed? No. Then there is the man talking to you but its actually your own subconscious talking to you telling you not to be concerned with other people's opinions, but you do. In real life you like to attract attention to yourself by looking your best all the time and dont get the amount of attention that you are seeking.

I have personal experience with significant body mutilation this year, but it was done by my doctors.
On another subject. I have a great view of Sydney..... Its in the rear view mirror as I am going home. Dont like the concrete jungle, especially the traffic and dont like looking up at people which I had to do from a wheelchair mid year. At 6'5", its not a normal thing for me to do.
I'm a home bum too but want to be a travelling home bum in our new caravan as soon possible.

Actually, I also think most dreams are just dreams. But it's nice to think there's a meaning to them. Who knows, the mind is a very powerful thing.

I avoid horror films and any kind of thing that involves... blood and guts etc.

I'm not that short for a girl actually (compared to others around the world I am, SH! Lol). But I live in an Asian suburb, so most people are shorter than me. I'm 169cm or 5"7.

People love my artworks though. I also get compliments about it, even if I think it's shit. And in the dream I DID wanna chop off my right hand. Was just unsuccessful.

But maybe you're right about the attention part. Hmm...
