      Can anyone help me understand this dream?

      Hi!

      I have a recurring dream at least 2/3 times a week.

      While the details change, the pattern remains the same:

      - I am about to reach a goal, and am set to be successful. But at the last minute something happens that I cannot overcome, and as a result I miss my goal.

      For instance:

      - I am flying somewhere. I would arrive at the airport in time, but be stuck at the gate, and miss the plane
      - Or I would leave the hotel in time but the taxi will get stuck in traffic and I would miss the plane
      - Or I would prepare an important email for a customer, be ready in time, but eventually would not manage to send it, because of a network failure,
      - Etc.

      Again it is one story that is shaped differently. I usually wake up panicked.

      Any idea is very welcome.

      This is a pretty common dream theme from what I understand. You aren't alone. I get dreams like this quite often too and some that are more dire - like someone is hurt and I'm trying to get help but things keep holding me back. Or I am being chased by someone wanting to kill me and I just have to get to safety only I don't know the way, or I fall and break my leg.

      I think it means you're stressed out about something IRL and maybe afraid something is going to go wrong. I certainly have these dreams more often when I have too much on my plate.

      I have the airport-related dreams all the time. Something always prevents me from actually getting to the plane. Now I reality check whenever I'm in an airport just because it's such a common dream sign for me.
