recurring dream!
hi!
I've been having this recurring dream which relates to an amazing student exchange i did in paris for two months. i keep on dreaming that i arrive in paris and i am with a friend or some family, i decide to go and visit my host family but something always stops me. The first dream it was getting dark and i had a fight with my mum therefore she wouldnt let me go and see my host family, the second dream i was walking down my old street in paris and i went to open the door to the apartment but i forgot the code for the door and couldnt get past, the third dream i dreamt that my brother and mum and i were driving through paris and i was directing them to my host mums house. we got lost and i never got to see them. i can always see the expression on my host mums face. like shes sad that we were so close and never got to see eachother. What does this mean?
Please help!

Hehe, unfortunately I'm no genius when it comes to dream interpretation. But I think all of us at one time or another have experienced what is called "device failure" (like with the door code thing). I think it has to do with control, or feeling out of control in life in general. I don't know, but it happens to us all.
One thing I find really helpful, is to try and do reality checks when there are similar problems in life. If the next time you are dreaming and something like that happens again, you might be able to clue in that it is a dream and become lucid! Then you can just will the damn door open with your mind, hehe.
Anyway, there's my two cents.

what deos your host family mean to you? your host mom in particular...
also, why do you think you want to get back to them?

You're back now no? My guess is that you liked your host family especially the host mom, thus you'd like to see them again. But part of your subconcious knows you can't (Either distance or inability), so stops you from actually seeing them in the dream. Sort of an mental projection of the physical improbablity of getting to your host mom again.

In order to better interpret this dream, the questions everyone above me asked would help a lot, and knowing a little more about your family.
How old are you?
Where do you hope to live when you're older?
And, as always, I'll take a psychoanalytical guess that you have a relationship with someone at the time that has a little problem that you cannot fix (ie. distance). Although, there is a good chance that that guess is completely wrong.
Look forward to hearing more.
