re-occuring theme

Most of my dreams do not repeat .....as such
but
There is almost always a re-occuring THEME!

That theme is being LOST!
Not being able to find "something" or get "somewhere".

The circumstances are usually different but
I am trying to find my way to "someplace" to do "something"
and I cant find IT or that place.

An example is:
Needing to pack to go on a trip
I cnat find mt "stuff"
It is getting late
I am going to miss the trip
The harder I look, the more lost I become
Panic sets in
( The dream never has an ending - I am left "looking" )

I am late
I am going to lose something if I dont get there in time
and I cant find my way.

Ther e are rarely anyone I know in my dreams
They are usually all strangers

I know that this reoccuring THEME means something

It is something in my subconsious - an anxixety or ??
But What?

Can anyone help ??

I suspect it is an anxiety or obsession of some sort. I have read that people who dream of forgetting things are usually those who tend to remember - i.e. anxiety causes them to make sure they remember. Could it be the same kind of thing with you? That you spend a lot of energy making sure you know where you are (actually or metaphorically) because you think you're lost?

I often dream I'm doing exams I haven't prepared for but have been reasonably succesful academically in life.
