      Dream of being awake

      I was laying in bed last night and i couldn't sleep, so I went downstairs, had a drink and a smoke and lay on the sofa with a blanket over me to try and sleep.

      I lay there for what seemed like hours, tossing and turning, had a twitch in my leg that was annoying, had a little belly ache and had a song going through my head (Roll To Me by Del Amitri) which just kept repeating itself over and over.
      I remember thinking "If only this song would end I would be able to sleep.
      It eventually drifted into another song (can't remember which one) and I thought "that's it I will be able to sleep now" but it drifted back to 'Roll To Me'

      Then I woke up on the sofa lol, I had been dreaming that I couldn't sleep.

      It all felt so real tho, I'm still thinking this morning that no way could I have been asleep.
      I don't recall looking around the room so must have had my eyes shut, but I do remember the smell of the airfreshner that I had sprayed after I had had my smoke and I remember trying to massage the 'twitch' away in my leg and trying to turn into a postition where it felt less prominent so I could ignore it.

      Does this kinda dream mean anything?
      Last time I had anything like this I was only a teenager.

      The song btw is one I had sang the previous day, just messing about and recording myself although someone told me I had kinda pulled it off, although I can't sing to save my life lmao

      I would say it means your becoming more aware within your dreaming. Do you think that might lead to more advanced lucid dreaming. Its an interesting dream to be sure.

      I had that same thing happen to me the other night. it was really weird cause I decided to pull a random reality check and it failed. and I said "oh thats why!" then I went on to have some fun!

      The thought of lucid dreaming excites me immensley, but ive never even come close

      I have no comprehension of how lucid dreaming would feel, but i know in this dream i certainly felt awake and aware of everything around me, so if its a step in the right direction im kinda happy just now hehe

      This has happened to me before too I think for me it was because I was so focused on the thoughts of, "I can't sleep! I need to sleep!" that this feeling followed me into the dreaming world.

      Hmm...Really, I'd say this was a false awakening, when you dream of being awake. How long do you think you were you asleep

      FA = you're dreaming that you're awake.

      LD = you know your dreaming.

      FAs can lead to LDs with the use of an RC or other things. But with FAs, you think you awake, thus, you don't think you're dreaming.
