interesting series of dreams last night

hi guys, i used to go on this forum a LOTT but for like the past year and a half ive been soo busy (senior year high school/fresh year college now!) so im sorry, but i promise ill try to come back on once in a while!!!

to start off my break in hiatus, i will tell you my dream from last night.

i actually went to bed at 10:30, unusually early for me, which meant that i had a lot of sleep. i also usually sleep with my ipod with volume halfway and lately i havent been getting a lot of sleep. but last night i did and with no distractions, i actually remembered my dream. whoopie!


so my first dream i was with some friends (none of whom i recognize/remember now, but they were good friends in the dream) and we were hanging out. one of my friends brought one of her guy friends with her and we were all just hanging out, walking around the city (i live in nyc), having fun whatever. after a while me and this new guy (who i dont know in real life, he looks kinda like someone i know but not really) started talking a lot with each other, hanging aronud each other, flirting with each other (mind you its the same afternoon of hanging out). all of a sudden we were alone walking, clinging to each other and such, then i was hugging him. he hugged me back. i looked into his eyes and kissed him on the cheek. it felt like true love. we were about to kiss on the lips when i woke up.

yes that was dream number one. now keep in mind, im not the type of girl who has guys hanging all over her. i am waiting for the ONE and i have had VERY little boyfriends in the past. this is somewhat out of character for me.... now onto dream number two....

so i went back to sleep and dreamt a series of other dreams that are kind of all meshed together. i was in my student council meeting (with recognizable people, namely gus, the president, and i think the guy from my first dream was there but i dont remember) and we were talking about nothing just being us. all of a sudden we were at a dinner table still talking with empty plates waiting to be called up to eat and such. the room i was in was weird, nothing like the dining hall in my dorm, but whatever. i was sitting with some guys and the other girls i think were at the other end of the long table (seating maybe 15 people). then they called us up to get our food (like a sandwich making bar) and i jumped onto the line. i think that the guy who looked like the guy from my first dream tried to get online behind me but gus beat him to it. gus then started flirting with me, taking my hands and putting them on the top of his head as he danced with me and swung me around (all while on the food line). i dont remember much after that, i think that was the end.

im a friend of gus were in a lot of classes together (along with the 15 or so other people in our major) but i dont like him like that in real life, hes not really my type of guy but he is cool. again, im not the flirty girl type either.

anyone have any explanations!??! thanks...

*sigh* not directed at you. Guess I'll have to be the one to help you. In both dreams, you found either a guy you knew or some random guy and were flirting and then dancing/or kisssing. This could mean that you are somewhat jealous of everybody else having a boyfriend. Or you have known what that felt like in the past, and would like to experience it again. My advice: start hanging out more with the guys you do know, try to meet more people, maybe ask somebody out ( doesn't have to be serious until you get to know them ).

Please note, I take dream interpretation a lot like fortune telling. You are able to bend it around to make it fit whatever you want. However, as long as I am good at it, I will continue to help people who need/want it.

hey thanks, lol i think it might just be my dream self doing stuff that my real life self cannot do. i dont ask guys out, ive never been in love and have a feeling that i never will be... it could just be my dream side giving my reality a, well.. a dream! lol but thanks

I've not been around much lately either.

Well the way I look at many relationship dreams is that it's basically the relationship you're dreaming about more than it is the person. That's why we find ourselves in love with people we wouldn't much go near in real life or (in my case seemingly) strangers.

You may have had only a minimal experience of physical love but you certainly have a construct for it and, I dare say, a wish for it. Our unconscious is supposedly pleasure-seeking (according to Freud anyway) after all.

But I wouldn't pass off this dream as just a sexual fantasy. I really believe that we as humans feel the need to relate. Most probably it goes back to our earliest experiences, before we realised we were autonomous beings with free will etc. As adult humans, our need for relating becomes elaborated in forms which our society has taught us - which for many of us is a sexual attraction.

OK, that's all just boring theory. What I'm trying to say is that you have uncovered that vulnerable relationship-seeking part of yourself. It is a part of you that will probably never be satisfied - you know, people always let you down etc. I find myself concerned that you really are waiting for the one person who will be that idealised other for you. The dream suggests to me that your feeling for wholeness can only be satisfied from within - i.e. by bringing that internalised relationship into awareness - rather than projecting it onto someone else.
