Multiple Pesonalities.
I had a creepy dream last night where I had a friend (not one I know in real life, just a character) who was afraid she was being stalked because she kept finding really creepy notes in her room, and her locker and at her work.
A lot of the dream was me going around with her and, unsuccessfully, trying to catch the stalker leaving the notes. Eventually she got one that was a death threat and she showed it to me because she was terrified. I happened to have her notebook in front of me and I realized that she had the same handwriting as the stalker. I went and talked to her mom and sister about it and found out that they knew she had multiple personalities, but to keep her safe, they weren't letting one personality know about the other. Evidently both personalities thought they were being stalked, and while one personality was scared, the other wanted to fight back and kill the stalker, which was expressed in the death threat note.
Problem is, before I talked to her family, I had accidentally shown her how the handwriting was the same.
Then my dreams changed and I was producing the season finale of one of those elimination reality tv shows where I'd chosen the winner because she had managed to get pregnant on the show and that was the most dramatic option since she was also willing to pick her prizes while bungee jumping from the studio ceiling. yea.
I've been interpreting for over a decade and this one's got me stumped.

Hmm...
Maybe you think your friend acts differently a lot? I mean, it could probably be nothing of importance. It may just be your feelings about your friend, like maybe your not sure if she would defend herself, or she would go to someone else to help her.
I really don't know, just throwing my idea out there.

Haha, what a dream! If you cant know the meaning of it after looking at it for a while, then perhaps it has none. I feel like the only dreams that have meaning are the ones you know what they mean. You following? If it is not registering anything with you, then enjoy the crazy story you just had and let it be.

Yea, Barbizzle. It just seems like it's so symbolic and I rarely have dreams like that so I can't resist picking them apart.
@ Slayer: Seems the closest that one can come... I was thinking maybe self-destructive since the two personalities are at odds. One thing though, the characters and settings in this dream weren't ones with which I am acquainted in waking life. As far as I can tell, they were creations from my subconscious mind.

Moved to the "Dream Interpretation" forum.

Well, if it is a female character who, as far as you know, is made up, it could very well be your anima. The anima was determined by Dr. Sigmund Freud to be the feminine side of your personality, and is mostly an extension of your won personality. The only thing I can tell you past that is that you may think you have changed too much, changed your mind frequently, or have had a lot of second thoughts about things that you feel may be harming you. By the way, I have only been interpreting for a month under your five years, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. Maybe this new link will help you discover the answer on your own. By the way, I encourage you to stay and become a member of the DV community. :welcome:

By the way, do you mind if i use your idea for a book?

Oniman, yes. I will stay and post more, and yes, you may use whatever you'd like in a book. ~z

Are you male or female? As Oniman pointed out, it could symbolize a part of yourself.
Either male or female, it could represent that you feel you have to put on a "different face" for different people or situations. The point that one personality could be violent might represent your anger at not being able to show your true self.
Pregnancy often represents birth (literal or figurative), growth and change. Seeing how the dream merged from one to the other, it could represent your desire for a winning change. Ceilings are high and bungee jumping is risky. Perhaps you were recognizing that change would be far off (high) and risky but the outcome would make the danger worthwhile.
Also to consider are basic influences- what were you watching, thinking about, doing at the time of the dream? Sometimes dreams are just dreams :)
