What does the color blue mean?

I was just curious. My favorite color happens to be blue, so it could be as simple as that. But I was wondering if there was any other significance.

Here's some examples of "blue" dreams I've had:

A girl I dated in high school was painting, and she had smudges of blue paint on her face and clothes... That's all I remember about the dream.

I had a vision (or dream) of a blue baby sitting right next to me on my bed, and it then faded away...

(this next dream is somewhat recent) I dreamed there was a beautiful transvestite painting nude on top of a huge canvas. There were other colors, but blue was the most prominent.

I also was reading the task of the month, and someone mentioned they saw a girl with blue hair. Any interpretation would be most welcome!

Usually blue is like tranquility, peace, open-ness...stuff like that

Since you saw the blue baby maybe that was your spiritual guide?

Or how about something more logical, it seems right now you're placing the importance of the color blue as something more than just ordinary. And perhaps it's because of the fact that your favorite color is blue and hence that's what you most pay attention to or are most likely to remember, therefore it has significance to your dreams because blue is the first thing to come to mind when you try to remember.

I cannot make an Interpretation on that other than you really like the color blue.

While you're on the net, start by looking up the color blue on wikipedia.
Look at the colors of auras and what they mean, i hear there are cultures that regard blue very highly as a sign of "Infinite Knowledge" and blahblahblah.
