      same dream for a year!

I've been having a reoccuring dream of my ex-boyfriend for the past year!
The dreams began while we were still together and they were usually sexual, I thought there was nothing wrong with that because I love him and I THOUGHT he loved me too. We broke up because I thought he was stessed about school but in actuality I think it was because he was about to head off to college and he didnt know if he still felt the same way about me or if he would feel the same way about me. Basically he lied to me about liking me, then he started to like me, so he's sitting here confused and so am I. Then I notice my dreams intensify not only are we having sex but it's like we just got married and we are in a honeymoon suite and he seems to be really into it and he keeps staring at me, so I stare back. The whole dream feels soo real. The other reoccuring dream ( i dunno if its one big dream or two dreams but they always happen in this order!) that takes place after this one is a fight and I seem to be beating the shit outta this guy! Yet the whole time he just takes it, he doesnt run, he just lets me hit him and call him out and then I start to cry and I hit him harder. I always wake up with a depressed feeling, like I lost something or someone dear, this has been going on for about a year and hasnt let up. I've been told to stop talking to him and that he isnt worth it. But he tried so hard to stay friends with me after we broke up and he told me that he didnt just want to be an "ex", he wanted to be a friend. But with these dreams I dont feel as if I can be his friend until they stop. I wont lie I do still love him and I'm trying to get over him but the dreams wont allow me to which means I have to ignore him all the time, which I cant do cuz I always find myself emailing him or something. Its been a month since I've contacted him and the dreams are still there. I dont know what they mean. I honestly dont think its possible for us to be back together cuz he wants to be friends but he's making it quite obvious that he still has feelings for me. I know this dream has got to be a sign but I have yet to interpret it's message or to find out where it came from...

      thanx for ur help!

To me I feel this dream, if it were mine, is about a challenge towards independence. The first dream is about attachment (sex). One thing I think that helps when trying to predict it, and really your own prediction will be the best, is to realize in your dream he is not your ex but it is you. All people, objects, everything in your dream is you. That being said, your attachment to this aspect of yourself is, in my prediction, truly about attachment. I suggest the next time you have this dream, you try hard to drop the sex, and the eye contact and leave the situation. This I feel is what your true self wants, it will be for the better to clear your mind of your ex and I believe your dream is a good way of doing it. Also, the same for the second dream. Not sure if "this guy" is your ex, but it seems to be a dream of frustration towards the situation with your ex. Again realize, all the people in your dream are you. So you are beating yourself up over the situation yet your take the beating and not letting go. In this dream, I suggest trying to recognize the guy as yourself and standing up and leaving. Firstly, the symbol of attachment must be severed by not engaging in your sexual fantasy with you ex. Secondly, the symbol of self disatisfication and loathing must be severed by the act of becoming the guy and leaving or, if it's easier, it might be better, to start hugging the guy, unless this is your boyfriend and I recomend making him leave. If you find you have no control over the dream, I recomend writing down what you want to happen before you go to sleep. This I feel may be a great way to free yourself form this attachment. Remember it's not an attachment with your ex, it's truly an attachment to the your self that had the boyfrind. Hope I could be of some help. If I have, I'd like to here your own prediction now that things may be a little more clear to you. Best of luck, - Flowstill
