      Her.

This one time, I was at a dark place with all this stuff, it was probably like a festival or something, and there was this girl. We were talking (we wern't actually talking in the but it was 1 of those times where u just know it) and suddenly I was somewhere else (like a scene change in tv show) me & a friend were walking & talking (this time our mouths were moving but there wasn't really any sounds) and in the middle of the conversation, I saw the girl and just started walking towards her and thats when the dream ended. I was not lucid.

It happened a long time ago but there was such a strong emotional connection that it was like the girl is (or was, that's always an option) real, and had the same dream from her point of view. It kinda makes me think. I begged god to let me have it again but that was b4 I learned about lucid dreaming (even though I had had a million already the but I thought it was natural & didn't know u could use it 2 control my dreams. Any ideas??

You've said you've been lucid before...perhaps summon her the next time you're in a dream?

If you haven't gotten to that level of control yet, maybe you could ask the dream characters if they've seen her, where to find her.

Thanks but, you see, since I joined the website, I can't lucid dream, I don't know why but, I just, can't anymore. But I'll try. It wasn't directed towards me but in another thread someone said, "Why don't you try writing RC (reality check not recall) on your hand to remind you." so I did that and remember every time I see it. But I don't do RCs in my dreams like the tutorial-thing said I would.

If you were able to become lucid before joining the site, start doing whatever it was you did to get lucid back then. As in, don't pay attention to the tutorials for a while. stick to your old induction techniques.

And how long have you been doing reality checks?
You should try out a technique seriously for at least about two weeks before giving up on it, in my opinion.

Maybe you can use this girl as inspiration to become lucid. Whenever you are feeling frustrated, just think of how great it will be to summon her whenever you want.

Keep trying, and you will have a lucid dream. Keep up your reality checks, do a few Wake Back To Beds every week. You will become lucid.

I didn't do anything to become lucid before, it kinda just...happened... and I thought it was normal. I'll try doing more RCs and try an FILD.

This is the dream interpretation forum, guys, not lucid attempt.

Ask yourself why and how the girl means so much to you. Have you had this dream more than once? Does the girl remind you of someone you know? In any way at all?
Ask yourself things, anything, really. Just ask.

I only had the dream once, I don't know why but I wish I could meet her in waking hours but for some reason, don't think I can. She reminds me of this one girl I know now, but, at the time of the dream I didn't know her. They don't look anything alike but.... I don't know, she just reminds me of her.

Maybe this was an example of some dream sharing although that would mean you would have to know her, ask her what she dreamt that night to verify the claim that it's real and it's also Beyond Dreaming Section material I think summoning her would be the best idea

I don't know what the date waz. It was like, a year ago. And besides, I'm pretty much scared to ask her questions that might arouse. I'm kinda, like, in love w/ her.

You don't even know her in RL assuming that she isn't just another DC in your dream, so, I don't see why you would be scared about asking her questions

Dreams like this are surprisingly common. Why is it that we find them so powerful and hard to explain?

We all have the capacity to feel very close to someone. We were born very close to someone. It doesn't go away. Indeed we look for it in other people throughout our lives. But they never live up to the mark. Sometimes in dreams we think we've found that person and those feelings come out again. Or is it the other way round? No matter.

I would avoid trying to "get over it", which is the temptation. Indeed I often find that I'm closer to people following dreams like that. For a day or two anyway. Important to remember it's about us, not another person though. And "the girl" is yours and only yours. Of course that has the advantages that you can meet again in dreams. She'll probably look different in subsequent dreams and perhaps take the form of someone you know IRL. But each time it's your internalised object of desire that you're dreaming of. You may even get a sense of "her" IRL and enjoy "her" company. Which sounds weird, but that's better than expecting real people to take on that impossible role.

That's how it works for me, anyway.

I've had a dream surprisingly similar to this. I was on a bus riding home. It looked like it was back in the Carolinas (wish I hadn't had to move from there). Anyways, it was autumn and the leaves were starting to change. I was talking to a girl next to me on the bus while we were riding home. While I don't remember what we talked about, there was a feeling of complete honesty, and we talked about everything we wanted to without restraint. Some might have described it as a true love kind of feeling, but I describe it differently. It felt like she was me, but the other side of me, carefree and open instead of quiet and calculatory like me. Sound familiar?

It kind of sounds like almost a release for our brains. The only other thing I can think of is that it's the opposite side of our brains kicking in. Dr. Sigmund Freud believed that the brain had two subconscious parts, the anima and the animus. Now (I believe) the animus was the male part and the anima was the female part. If you are male, then the anima is more prominent and will show up a lot more often in dreams or your subconscious. It also seems to make sense that it would be the opposite of your waking self, yet mesh together well.
