      Disturbing Dream

I had a dream last night about, among other things, a newborn; it was all red and crying. Someone had it inside a plastic bag, saying, "Oh, it can survive in there because it's just born, and it's like the womb..." but after a few minutes, it died.

After that, I went to see a counselor -- who looked incredibly like my tenth grade English teacher -- and was crying and all upset. He took me into a back, private room and I told him about the baby being killed.

At first, I knew that the baby was that of my old twelfth grade English teacher (or possibly my recent [freshman college] Calculus teacher), but toward the end, somehow it was my aunt's baby.

And at the very end, the baby turned into a Thanksgiving turkey, and my aunt wasn't upset about the baby being killed.

Can anybody help me out here? I'm really anxious to see if this has any discernable meaning...

I don't think you will find that in the book 10,000 Dreams interpreted -which are *%##@! anyway.

Are you or anyone you know worried about becoming pregnant? Or is someone close to you having metical problems.

What did you think of these teachers ? - good, bad? this could maybe play a role.
Somtimes I feel that the subconcious is living out a very helter skelter world and does not always have implications for each dream too.

Did you feel guilt the next day?

No, nobody's having medical problems or could be pregnant -- and I liked all of my teachers, very much.

Yes, I agree -- hence why I titled this "Disturbing Dream". Heh.

No, no complications with my aunt.

I wish I could -- but if there is some connection, I can't quite see it, hence why I posted the dream here in hopes of having someone be able to interpret it somehow.

haha Howetzer ill try to help

hmmmmm i dont know what else to say, many people have bizzare dreams so its not something weird or strange (though the dream can be labeled that...)

anyways, maybe you just have some fear of something? death? or maybe you feel people around you do not care about your concerns... or that may be you fear that will happen... hmmm

      Hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm.................... MAYBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, lol, this is a little far fetched, but maybe, that turkey you said the baby changed into, maybe when you ate a turkey on thanksgiving, im not sure where you live or when thanksgiving for you is, or even if you have it or ate a turkey.....
anyhoo, maybe you felt bad for eating the turkey because in you mind, you thought of it as a real living thing, and your mind put that in your dream, so you think of the baby as a living thing being killed by people, just as the turkey is.

lol, im nto sure about anything else, but thats all i got out of that dream

Well, I had the dream on the night of November 9th, and Thanksgiving for me wasn't until the 26th, but maybe. Hmm...never thought of it that way -- but then, I eat meat regularly without a usual onslaught of guilt...

      Thanks for the additional interpretation!

Wow, very strange indeed. Trying to provide any sort of interpretation of that dream is almost impossible for a third party and would be very hard even for the dreamer himself, since the themes (birth, death, sustenance, etc.) are so deep and can have as many interpretations as dreamers.

My advice would be to try to identify the major ideas and symbols in the dream, and then maybe to ask yourself how they apply to your life, perhaps doing some free association on them, see what comes up.
"Forget? I have twice in my life forgotten something. Once that Aetro-oil and Quicksilver have a certain idiosyncracy as regards to each other. That cost me my arm. Secondly that Hel was a woman and you a man; that cost me my heart."

Well yeah, I tried interpreting it myself, but then realized I had no clue whatsoever even then -- so I decided to put it up here and also to the Yahoo group Dreams-and-Visions to see if anyone else could make any sense of it.

Maybe it has something to do with your inner child, like someone thought they were taking care of it but they were wrong and something bad happened.

No expert here but some of my 2c if you are still interested.....Archetype gave some very sage advice. Free association is a good way to get a subconcious peek at specific characters, situations and what they could mean to you. What they mean to me or anyone else is about as accurate as a blind man reading you a book.

BTW, most of the characters you portrayed were well represented but I would pay attention to the unclear character who was holding the bag with the baby in it. I read deceipt in that character and it may have some bearing on the situation.

      some ideas

Yes, it is a very intense dream with some weighted energy. I thought of some things when i read your account. The baby is in a plastic bag and somene is saying it's just like a womb, likening the body to something that can easily be created with plastic. Then two English teachers are referenced, and an aunt. The plastic bag proves fatal for the child. Forgiveness comes when the baby turns out to be a turkey for eating.

If the aunt is not a teacher figure in real life, it might be interesting to have the idea that the dream is grouping your aunt with the two English teachers for a reason. Also the strong image of plastic being easily substituted for a part of the body might be showing up in real life. if you are in a school situation right now, pay attention to people who play the same role as the person who told you the baby was okay: strangers, acquaintences... adn how they treat the body. Do they push it to the limit? Ignore it? Is the dating scene kind of "plastic"?

Another idea I had was to ask you about how your creativity is doing. Have you sealed up your writing, that was encouraged by your English teachers in high school, to do the things you have to do now? If so, it might need to be let out of the bag a little, to breathe. All the work your mentors put into you in earlier years might be like a little planted seed, just starting to grow. Their seed and yours. I say this because Ive had 2 major dreams about babies, adn both occurred when I was about to take a big step with my drawing portfolio.

i thought Luke's take on the turkey was good, but you say you never had a problem with eating turkey. Maybe someone around you in your life is a vegetarian, though, and you kind of have to see things their way sometimes, like when you go out to eat with them at restaurants.

Thank you so much for sharing your dream, it seems like a big one

All I have to say is that this is most likely a release dream... a dream in which your subconcious side is releasing your worst dream. In this dream you could have been most afraid of that certain baby dieing in that manner, or that baby could be you. That babay could be how your feeling, if you are feeling like everything is crowding around you and you have no space to breathe. please correct me if I am wrong.
Ther is no real me, only an entity, something hallucery. And though I can hide my cold gaze and when you shake my hand you can feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comprable. I simply am not there.
