      Voice in my dream

Ok, so this very morning about a 1/2 hour ago i was having a perfectly normal dream. Until the point came when I picked up an object in my dream, a sweater, then i heard this foreign voice clearly say to me: "I know you can read my mind, turn the motor off now". Needless to say upon hearing this voice I jumped the hell out of that dream and immediately woke up. The tone had an element of command to to, and wasn't what i would consider malevolent. Upon waking I had uncontrollable mind shivers... if you know what i mean ?

This is the first time I have ever heard a voice in my head.... dreaming or otherwise, and I am quite shaken. I have been heavily meditating in the past few days.... and have been reading about experiences people have while on DMT.... so I'm thinking these activities have lead to this voice or whatever it was.... I'm not quite sure what the hell the motor would be referring to ...although there is a fan running in my room ...... Anyway my question would have have any of you ever heard a distinctly foreign voice in their head while dreaming ? I know at this point I am quite sane .....

I don't think I've ever heard a voice while dreaming but I did have a really wierd dream one time where I was reading the dream out of my dream journal as I was experiencing it. It was like the dream journal was overlaid on top of my vision and semi-tranparent.

One other time, my mom tried to wake me up when I was much younger and she said that I said "It's ok mom, they're telling me what to do." So I might have been dreaming of voices in that one but I don't remember it. Otherwise, I too am perfectly sane. Unless I'm on entheogens

That sounds strange and curious. What kind of voice did it sound like? I mean, did it sound human or mechanical or other? And if human, was it male or female or a child?

The only time I've heard any strange voices is when I'm on the hypnogogic edge of waking up again.

could the moter be in reference to the machine elves? It's a DMT thing for those that don't get that reference.

I had a lucid dream once with a disembodied voice. It was actually quite helpful, and helped me stabilize the dream. About your situation, I'm not quite sure exactly how you would interpret that. I mean, not much physically happened. One line of dialog could mean so many things, or it could mean nothing at all. I'd wager it doesn't really mean anything.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Feeling a lot better now, just had to get used to the concept of that voice or whatever. It never made me feel distinctly threatened, it was just really disturbing as I've never had such an experience.

Lol maybe it was the machine elves Aaron, one day I hope to see them.

Starry the voice was really weird .... it almost wasn't like a voice at all.... contemplating on the experience its like everything in my head that was going on in the dream was cut through by this message. The voice, or whatever it was, sounded androgynous and it had the feeling that it totally expected me to do as it commanded, which is kind of the part that really disturbed me. Oh yah and it was in the hypnogagnic stage, i've read lots of weird things happen in that mind frame, its part of what comforted me about the whole experience !

This is a little off topic for dreams but the OP brought it up....

DMT and all the other entheogens are great but be careful. I don't know how old you are (id say this to anyone regardless of age) but take your time and be sure that you eat/smoke them with people that you trust and have a 'trip sitter' that you trust with your life. DMT and salivinorin-A are safe as far is is known and except for any stupid thing you might do under their influence (hence the trip-sitter) but the brugsmansias/daturas are extremely dangerous both because they are toxic and because they are "angry plants". Take too much (they are very hard to dose) and you will do something stupid or die from a chemical overdose outright. A kid in germany recently cut off both his penis and his tongue under the influence of a brugsmansia. About ten years ago in colorado, another kid carried stones into a lake and didn't let go until he was already drowned while under the influence of datura. That's what daturas/brugsmansias will do to you. Stick to DMT, 5-meo-DMT, bufotenine and Salvinorin-A with a trip-sitter. And I recomend you stick to actual plants as opposed to the synthesized versions but that part at least is just my opinion.

Sorry for the lecture but there are a lot of idiots that have stupid stuff to say about entheogens and so I thought I'd stick one more voice of reason out there. They are not for 'fun'. They are powerful and potentialy dangerous medicine. Ultimately, they are, I believe, crippling. Lucid dreaming is the way to go.

Thanks for the advice Aaron !

Recently I've began mental preparation..... I'm just so curious that I have to be moving towards the eventual goal.

      Aaron,
Those elves you mentioned sound fascinating. I went to look them up, but despite how common they are supposed to be, I could find only one semi-detailed description of an elf encounter and only two drawings of them. I guess the DMT users aren't so willing to record their experiences.

It's too bad there's no way to dream them without the drugs. But if DMT is really supposed to be a naturally occurring brain chemical related to dreaming, there ought to be some other way.

I've pretty much been converted to the opinion that all the different entheogenic experiences are just a lazy persons WILD. It just might take a lot of effort to take a lucid dream to that level of insanity but I think it could be done. Thats my main interest at least. has anybody done any work on chakras in dreams? I bet that would get some stuff rolling.
