I fell in love...?

Hi, I woke up crying to this dream this morning. It was so vivid. i can't even begin to explain the feelings during it. I hope someone can help me figure it out.

It started out normal. I was at my grandmas house. Then my dad, my brother, and I found a time machine in her garage. It just looked like a simple black car, but it was a time machine. We were all pretty thrilled over it, we decided to take it for a test drive. So we all got in sped off down the driveway and jumped into a sort of vortex. We came out in the past, it looked like it could have been 1900 or something. Women were wearing very long dresses and the men were wearing pants and suspenders and there wasn't any technology. Everyone was really friendly. We talked to some of the local people in town. There was this one woman, she wore a brown dress she was especially nice to us. {Let's call her susan} (cause she comes back in the dream later)
Then my dad said it was time to leave, but I didn't want to go. I liked this 'past.' I wanted to live in it. I made my brother and dad promise that'd take me back.
So they did, the next day they just kinda dropped me off in the same time period again and said they'd come back later to get me. In the meantime I stayed in the basement of a shop that Susan owned. I met some new friends each day. But I also met this one boy who I ended up falling in love with. He had long orange, blonde hair...I called him the name of some boy that I actually do know and he kind of resembled him too. (I find it funny now, this boy was very unatractive) He had tons and tons of freckles...it looked more like he had giant orange spots all over his face. But I loved this kid, we'd spend every day together.
One evening we were at some sort of festival and we were under a tree togther holding hands. He tried to kiss me too, but I felt too awkward kissing him, I'm not sure why. I shyed away at every attempt, but he didn't seem to mind. Also something strange was happening...the time seemed to be changing awful fast. like it was 1900 one day and the next it could be 1940. Sometimes technology would just appear. I didn't like this, because it was slowly turning into siciety today...which I don't like as much as "the olden days" Often I thought of bringing this boy back to the present with me, but he was so nice, I didn't want him being corrupted by today's society.
Meanwhile My dad kept coming back to tell me I had to leave, but I refused because I loved this boy so much.
Then one day this boy and I went for a ride in this weird car and it was going so fast he almost fell out. I saved him, but when the ride ended he wasn't with me. And even worse, my dad was back again to 'make' me come home. I started crying saying I couldn't find the boy. Susuan told me to go pack my things to leave. I just kept crying til they made me go pack. In my room, as I packed, I found this necklace in a jewelery box that belonged to the boy (I had always liked the necklace and wanted to wear it) it was a tarnished gold chain with a heart and had a prayer written on the back. I decided I should take it back with me cause apparently it was now 1960 and he'd still be alive in the present so I thought he'd recognize it if I ever saw him.
Then Susan came in to tell me that she had looked him up on the computer and that his name was Samuel and he was famous for having gone missing in 1960 and no one ever found him. I sobbed like crazy then I woke up.
