unlocking pool to different levels

I don't remember much but what I can remember is that I was in a round in ground pool of water similar size to this one roundpool.jpg but in a cave like environment. We were underwater and 2 sides inside the pool had these small boxes like a mini chest opposite each other. One of the chest were open and we used the key inside the box to unlock the other chest on the other side which was locked. When we unlocked the chest it would allow us to go deeper into the pool like to the next level. It had the 2 chests on the same sides but the key we have would open 1 side but it wouldn't open the other side so I just kept the key. I wake up. I don't remember if I was breathing underwater or just holding my breath. Before this I remember animals coming up to me like in a cave environment but it was open and the round pool was below so I was like on a ledge. The animals I remember seeing were the seal which I was patting but then it growled at me and changed into a dog. It ran off and the other animals followed it. Any interpretations would be appreciated.

Hi Frozen, Circles symbolize the feminine, whereas angular objects symbolize the masculine. Your pool is feminine. Your chests, if they are standard rectangular shapes, are masculine. This seems to me to be a reference to your dreamtime, maybe to your efforts with lucid dreaming, and to intuitive/emotional aspects you experience during dreams. The dream is allowing you to go deeper into the pool, probably the Collective Unconscious here, but only one level deeper, as the key to the other chest is not available, suggesting you still have some intellectual (masculine attribute) studying to do before you can learn to go deeper. Caves in my dreams often represent the Earth plane. I was once told in a dream that "children (that's all of us) are not allowed in the cave unescorted." In other words, we have guides and angels with us to help us, as I further discovered in my dreams. Native Americans also perceive some of their guides as animal spirits, so it could be they are there as helpers, or it could be that your going deeper is part of taming your own animal nature, leaving it behind as you go down to the depths of understanding your own true nature and the nature of Spirit or God/dess.
