Returning with a new odd dream.

Let me first say that I have no maternal instincts whatsoever and that I'm sooo very glad I'm never having kids. And that's the main reason why this dream ranks pretty high on my creepy dream list.

I dreamt I had a son. Just one random night, I dreamt I had a son. I dreamt that we were on some kind of vacation, but that the cabin we were in had four twin beds, two in each row. I couldn't see the people in the two in front of me, but in the bed that was next to mine, my old English teacher was sleeping. I don't get that, but it wasn't as creepy to me as the fact that I a son. I didn't care about him, seeing as I was too busy trying to get my son to sleep so I could. I was actually feeling tired in a dream! He was having a difficult time falling asleep, and I guess that's why he was in bed with me in the first place, he didn't want to be in his own bed anymore. I guessed he was two or three. He just kept tossing and turning and even when he finally laid still, he was still kind of fussing. I tried covering him up, but he just kicked the blankets off like I did when I was little. He finally fell asleep, though, and drooled a little. I got a pretty good, vivid look at him. He had straight black hair, and was kind of pale. I could already tell from his limbs that he'd grow up to be kind of tall. I have dark brown, curly hair, my skin's naturally on the tanner side, and I'm only five foot one. Go figure.

I just thought this dream was so odd, and I wonder what anyone else thinks. :P

I think this is one of those dreams where it's parts of your own psyche that are being acted out. The two people in the beds in front of you, whom you can't see, are future selves, whose nature may be determined by the interactions between you, your "son", and your male "English teacher."

Males in dreams often refer to our left brain functions, our own inner male side. Left brain functions include language skills (like English), math skills, reasoning, intellect, science, and control of your right side. Your old English teacher represents you old inner male side, all the intellectual knowledge you have accumulated thus far, probably mostly in school. Your baby represents a new male aspect of some kind, new ideas, new beliefs, all based on male attributes as listed above. This male baby is new intellectual knowledge of some kind, and it bespeaks some changes in the way you see and react to the world.

His kicking off the blankets seems to say he doesn't want to be hidden or covered. You need to not stuff whatever this new growth is, but nurture it and allow it to grow. What have you been learning about lately in the area of intellectual knowledge? I think it's important to think about that, and keep learning more. Allow that growth, and allow yourself to express it and talk about it (drool a little... teehee), not cover it up, as that will also increase the growth, and you'll be the better for it.

I hope that puts your mind to rest! Babies in dreams are rarely actual pregnancies.

This is why I really like to hear other people's thoughts about dreams. I never would have thought that his kicking off the blanket could represent that. This dream appears to be a bit more of an odd way of telling me in my sleep how nervous I am about college. I just graduated from high school (that seems to be my old English teacher) and college (new experience/my son) is the next step. This summer, I've had more obvious dreams about it, but I just thought this one was just one of my wild card dreams. I guess when I take the plunge in September and get situated into being a college student, I'll have something else take over my dreams!

Wow, that really does fit! Good luck with the college experience! Yes, you'll get settled in, and then you'll start obsessing over some love interest or subject that's giving you a hard time or something. But college can be fun too, and stimulating. I hope it goes well for you!

And yes, I like hearing others thoughts on my dreams too, because while I understand mine very well most of the time because I've been working with them so long, there's still always something others say that add a little more!
