snapshots - Tom Cruise as metaphor

I have - fairly often - snapshot dreams. They are just short silent one-scene pictures mostly predicting things - sometimes clearly understandable other times so obscure, that I don't know what they could possibly mean. Example: I was observing from above what looked like a darkened miniature stage. I saw a crudely carved and painted figure which represented Tom Cruise sitting on a chair. In front of him stood a small cart with an open casket on it. In that casket lay a female figure, equally crudely carved and painted, representing a fellow artist whom I knew casually, whose work I greatly admired but who I didn't like personally. All this very vivid and colorful and that was all. I mulled this over for a couple of days - it wouldn't leave me alone. Finally I called a relative of hers and asked offhand : how is soandso doing? She said:Oh you don't know? She died two weeks ago! I held my breath - why then would I get a dream message about her death? After some rummaging around in the past I realized why: I had stopped working many years ago - life and circumstances were kicking me around and tying me down and seeing one of her exhibitions gave me such a jolt, that I just had to make the time to start working - no matter what - again. It was what I had badly needed. Tom Cruise was a perfect metaphor: Good actor, very successful - but personally I don't like him. -- Many people dismiss these snapshots as the nightly garbage pail - anyone for comments?
