Hi all!
For the past four nights, I have had the same dream again and again. The whole thing is so incredibly vivid, I can remember even the tiniest details about it.
I am standing in the kitchen of a beautiful country style home baking chocolate chip cookies. I can hear Christmas music playing in the other room. The song playing is O Holy Night, my favorite Christmas song. I put some cookies on a plate and grab a glass of milk and bring them to the next room.
In the next room, there is a Christmas tree and a fireplace with a big green stocking and mistletoe hanging from the mantle. On the sofa are a man and a little boy, maybe 4 years old. The man is reading a story to the little boy, who is curled up under a blanket in the man's arms.
I put the cookies and milk on a table by the fireplace and the little boy says, "Mommy wait!" He jumps off the couch and runs into the other room. When the little boy gets up, the man does too. He wraps his arms around me and kissed my forehead and says "Merry Christmas sweetie."
The little boy comes back holding a note he wrote to Santa. He hands it to me and says, "We have to put it with the cookies, Mommy." We leave the note next to the plate of cookies and I say, "Time for bed, darling. Say goodnight to daddy." The little boy runs over to the man and the man scoops him up into a big hug. He kissed the boy's cheek and says goodnight then sets the boy down. The boy runs up the stairs and I follow him.
That is where I usually wake up. Now, a few details. The man I recognize as someone I know. He is one of my professors from last semester. Other than that, the biggest thing about this dream is how real it all seemed. I could smell the cookies, the Christmas tree, the fire burning in the hearth, even the cologne the man was wearing.
I have never experienced a dream quite as vivid as this. It was a very surreal experience. Is there a meaning to all this or is it just some crazy meaningless dream?
Thanks for the input!
