A HELLish dream from 5 years ago!

      Alright.

So around 5 years ago, when I was a teenager in high school, I had ... what I had considered... the strangest and most 'horrific' (or morbid, rather) dream I had ever had. As someone who is very spiritual in his beliefs, which at the time was more Christian (which I am more 'spiritually open' and 'logically open' in my beliefs nowadays), but obsessed with the supernatural,... I assumed that this dream was slightly more than just a reflection of my subconscious. Yet, of course, its been a long time since I had this dream, and I still have the Dream Journal/Blog entry of this dream from 5 years ago ... in its purest form.

I've never actually had anyone analyze this dream, but I figure I might as well go around and get the opinions of others (I am also referencing this dream in a fiction story of mine, and so I could use your opinions creatively as well).

      Last night....
... I had the most dark and twisted dream I ever had in my entire life as I recall.

Let me describe it to you.

I found myself standing in a hellish place, the sky was bright in a panorama of orange yellow and red. The ground was similar to that inside an aqueduct or a dungeon sewer, with platforms of cobblestone and dark tiles organized in a maze-like setting without walls, and trenches for the water. However, it wasn't water within the trenches. It was blood. Thick, red, and begging to scare the hell out of anyone who wasn't a vampyr or just straight up sadistic,... though I do admit, I wasn't freightened, just really, really curious as to where the hell I was.
I looked around myself, and saw a cloaked figure, walking away from me, as if leading me somewhere. Somehow, I knew it was a witch, or some type of sorceress. I went along and followed her, wondering who she was, and where she was leading me. I had the impression that the place I was at had to do something with a graveyard. I don't remember why. I continued to follow her until she took a right, and walked slowly toward this circular platform with a pedestal on it. I also somehow knew that she knew I was following her.
She walked behind the pedestal, and looked down upon it, where a strange red ruby box or figure was sitting, with a push-in switch on the top of it. She stared at it for a few seconds and then pressed it. When she did, this visible red aura of energy, like a bright glowing orb of webbing, emerged from it, and spread outward. It dissipated before it even touched me. I knew I was in a dangerous setting, with a witch-like woman I didn't even know, with an object I wasn't sure was for, but I was nowhere near afraid. I was curious. Still curious. I took a few steps forward and looked at the woman, trying to get a better look at her face. Finally, she looked up at me with an agknowledgable look, and for a few seconds, we just exchanged stares. Then.... the slowly began to grin, deviously,... and as she did, I noticed fangs.
Then, in one swift motion, she pressed the switch again. This time, the aura of dark energy did not fail to encase me. When it did, I became paralyzed instantly. I felt the pressure around me thicken, and then, pain strick. I didn't actually feel pain in my dream, but the impression of it told me that it was supposed to be painful. I began to quiver severely. I could feel my body begin to change. To what,... I don't know. The 'pain' came over my entire body, and I tried to scream out, yet the paralysis and the muscle tension of the pain caused me to give out nothing by a ghastly groan. Then, thats when I fell unconsious in my dream, and I woke up.

.... I am BEYOND what the meaning behind the dream could possibly be, but I knew that the supposed 'witch' was actually a striga, a vampyric being which resembles a witch. ... Perhaps the dream was some morbid form of inspiration? Or maybe,... it has worth, ... a meaning, on a reality basis. If that were the case, then I definitely need to watch myself, otherwise something very bad will happen.

I also do recall when I was driving home tonight from a church youth session, I saw what seemed to be a falling star. That was something I haven't seen in a long long time. I doubt it has anything to do with my dream, but if it does, ... I'm keeping an eye open.

      ...

I am curious to what you have to bring to the table.

i think i might have a nightmare from this...

      "MementoMori, the lucid machine"

"There's nothing better than knowing what it's like to fly like superman. Being fully aware of the air whipping by you, controlling every movement of every single atom in your body with a single thought. It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."

      Nightmares can be scary...

Orange denotes hope, friendliness, courtesy, lively, sociability, and an out-going nature. You may want to expand your horizons and look into new interests.

Yellow - if the dream is an unpleasant one, then the color represents cowardice and sickness. You may have a fear or an inability to make a decision or take action. As a result, you are experiencing many setbacks.

Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Consider the phrase "seeing red" to denote anger.
Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges.Perhaps you need to stop and think about your actions.
To see a red colored sky in your dream, represents looming danger. Alternatively, it suggests that something is coming to and end.

To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments.

To see a witch in your dream, represents evil, destructive, and dangerous feminine forces. It may point to your negative ideas of anything feminine and your experiences with heartless women. Alternatively, a witch can also be a symbol of goodness, power and enchantment depending on your feeling toward your dream witch.

To see an aura around you or someone else, suggests that some important information is being relayed to you in the dream and you need to pay close attention to the message. You need to draw on this energy for strength.

Hope this helps you somewhat. I am too tired to do a full analysis tonight. If you need further help, give me a shout out and I will help you analyse the information provided.

      Interesting analysis.
(lol. Although I've been fascinated with dreaming, I've never really studied up on symbolism. I should have, but I just overlooked it.)

I understand that color generally has a lot of meaning in dreams. I've heard that some people actually do not dream in color, but I'm not sure if that is true. ... I've always had dreams in color.

The sky's color was much like the sky during evening hours, the descent of the sun (or just a place filled with fiery stimuli, powerful/hot emotions, and sexual/aggressive impulses). ... The approaching night.

I can clearly remember that when I was following the witch-like woman, I was feeling much intruige. It was a mix of yearning for wisdom (thinking her wise), sexual attraction, and a notion that perhaps I was heading into potential danger. ... So really, it felt like the witch reference was both good and bad. ... Like I was being played on my deep interest in the paranormal. I wanted to trust her, but I felt an impending mischief/backstab.

I saw fangs for christ sake! XD

The 'aura' seemed more like an energy field the way I remember it (and is dictated in my writing). Coming in contact with it actually erupted the feeling of mutation/transition.

I've asked one person (someone equally interested in spirituality) and they suggested that the 'painful end' might be the 'returning of the spirit from the astral plane to the body'. ...

Thats just a theory however. Still, for those of you who think along those lines, it rises more questions. ... Yet, she could have equally been a reflection of my subconscious. The only issue is that the dream seems to stand out well enough for me to have been bewildered by it, as if I hadn't been cramming morbid thoughts in my head at that time.

I don't remember if I was, but determining from my blog entry, I don't think I really was in a mindset to invoke that dream via association of something I've thought/seen recently.

I included the colors in the analysis because they seemed to be a lot of what you remember from the dream, and objects associated with them. The key to analysing dreams is mostly symbolism, any objects or colors can be of help as well as any person, place, or thing. You described the color red a lot in the dream, (ie. the blood, the color of the sky, the color of the aura etc..) So this may play some significance in the aspect of how you want to interpret the dream.

I have also heard that people dream in black and white. I however, do not. More often than not, I see vivid color in my dream, especially in my lucid dreaming.

Your friends theory of the painful end could very well be true, however it is just a theory, so take it how you will. If you were indeed astral projecting, sometimes the physical body goes through moments of shock as the mind does not really know what to think of it because it has experienced something so strange. (Along the lines of being in a car accident, but not so serious.)

Your dream did seem to have a lot of "dark" emotions/situations, but that doesn't nessicarly mean anything bad or evil. I hope the analysis has helped and if anyone else has any opinons, please feel free to speak up!

I was a teenager when I had this dream, so my emotions were running rampant in this era of my life. Rushing hormones = passion, aggression, sexual desire, etc.

      ...

I am also interested in hearing what other interpretations or questions others have.

Well, I'm no experienced dream interpreter or anything, in fact I'm pretty new to the forum, but the end of the dream sounds like a textbook description of a typical sleep paralysis experience. Are you familiar with it? You even used the word paralysis... I'd say that's exactly what you experienced.

Take a look at this video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCSqT5nZ9n4

A lot of people are extremely troubled by this kind of experience, but once they learn it's actually very common and nothing hellish or mystical or any kind of terrible message from the subconscious it can relieve them immensely.

This just sounds like you're horny, and that it cost you a lot of time & energy.
